Horse Racing Selections – 27th November 2020

Ahead of the weekend it’s a repeat of yesterday with all-weather racing coming from Southwell in the afternoon and Chelmsford on the evening.

I’d settle for a repeat of Phantasmal’s win for us yesterday. However, if he does take up the engagement (15.20), he’s on at 2’s to repeat the dose and we’ll look elsewhere in that one 🙂

Again, we’ve two selections up for consideration below.

Today’s Selections

Southwell 15.20

Iain Jardine’s Phantasmal is due back out in this one but we’ll keep the money in the bank with just 9/4 on offer.

More to our liking is Steph Hollinshead’s THE GOLDEN CUE who is well proven here. A win here in January 2019 off 61 was followed up with a 3rd off 63 that pushed him past his comfort zone.

Having tumbled the weights to a lowly 49, came back in June as soon as racing re-commenced. He ran a cracking 3rd just getting nabbed by Peachey Carnehan at Chepstow, but was a warm order and duly followed that up NTO out Ripon.

Back down to 49 again after a 3 race autumn campaign should be ready to run his race first time out. There’s pace on either side of the draw and hopefully can track the likes of First Excel likely to be making it from that side. He likes to be up there from the off which seems to be the best plan and out of the wake of the kickback here.

Josephine Gordon takes the steering duties who had a nice 2yo 6f winner for the stable 2 weeks back. There’s a best 18’s with Paddy & Betfair to press with a more general 14’s across the board and regulation 3 slots.

Southwell 15.20 – The Golden Cue

Chelmsford 18.45

Simon Pearce’s yard are running to the mark and 7f specialist FULL INTENTION looks too big in price for me here.

He won a 4th Of July event here off 69 in a Class 4 and has raced for the most part in that grade since.

LTO at HQ was caught up in a bog which we should put a line through. Back at a track where he has 3 wins from 10 outings, and all at a 68 or 69 rating, should be thereabouts.

However, 2 of those have been in C4 so this looks his easiest grade since the summer. Inaam goes against him who has twice rated a mention in our tracker on some decent efforts, but ours looks to hold that one on previous H2H.

David Probert is having a decent return at the moment and hopefully get us in the the mixer in this one.

There’s a best 18/1 with bet365 and regulation 3 slots though will take a general 14’s with the FOUR paying slots widely available.

Chelmsford 18.45 – Full Intention

Good luck if you’re going with your EW selections today.

Southwell 15.20 – The Golden Cue

Chelmsford 18.45 – Full Intention

(Current stakes are £51.32 EW for those backing the 1.25% EW on the £1k to £10k)
