Horse Racing Selections – 7th April 2021
There’s all weather racing from Lingfield and Newcastle for Wednesday. In addition there’s turf cards at Catterick and Nottingham.
To be frank, Newcastle’s AW card is full of 3yo and 5 runners plus an Ams race that is an easy leaver. The turf cards aren’t overly blessed with 4yo+ handicaps either, excepting one at each meet that I will be watching.
Will continue to focus on the all weather and the meeting at Lingfield. There’s one for members going in the (13.30) in the notes below.
Back in the morning with Southwell & Chelmsford around 8.30 am.
For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1188.12 and current full stakes, unless advised, £14.85 EW
The All Weather bank currently standing at +152 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

Hi Guys
Still a relative newcomer but very much enjoying the service. Been looking to the start of the new 10k challenge so that i can join in properly. I have a question on the results spreadsheet that i can’t quite understand. Looking at our last bet Nezar, where the advised staking was £7.45 e/w (rounded up to 7.50e/w on the spreadsheet. As we know the horse was a loser, but on the P&L column it is recorded as -£11.24? From looking at the formulas I’m assuming it is linked to the Rule 4 entry, but as the horse was a loser, this shouldn’t have been a factor. I’ve looked back at last years spreadsheet and there are a couple of occasions where a 100% rule 4 has been entered against losers, that have effectively made the horse a “non runner” on the P&L column as it shows 0. My concern is whether this would affect staking when “hopefully” we get further up the 10k ladder into the bigger numbers. By no means a criticism, and probably it’s just me not understanding the spreadsheet properly as a newbie, but would appreciate any clarification so i can make sure my staking is accurate.
Many Thanks
Pete
Absolutely true Pete, no reason for that R4 to be in the losing column!
Not Ghianii’s finest ride there. Bullied and caught napping
Absolutely, he’s ridden 65 winners so far but the last couple of furlongs looked like someone having their first ride.
Yes Victor, when we look at those wins, most have been over the 5 and 6f. Maybe lacks the nous yet over the longer trips 🙁
