Our selections yesterday both ran up paying places at Thirsk….disappointing we couldn’t land with one of them with them both hitting the front inside the final furlong and nabbed close home – from the intro notes, Dawaaleeb won the 7 runner at 5’s that again disappointed as we would have been on had it stayed an even 8 🙁

Straight back into a Saturday with the final day of Ascot the feature for those looking high end, the speedmeisters views are below. Our only race of potential interest is again at the back end of the day and the Wokingham. Three with stand out draws look to be the likes of Kevin Ryan’s lightly race  Tommy Taylor……he can stay centre or come up the stand rails…..our LTO Musselburgh selection, Major Jumbo who has been consistent to a tee and looks well placed out of trap 26,  JPS chooses that one and will fancy to add to his Sandringham win yesterday. He is without a win in C2 though and our choice comes from a stable members know we track on a regular basis.

That’s one of our members bets this afternoon as we have decided to dip our toe with our 2nd Ascot bet 🙂

Outside of that, ones we have backed previously……….Colonel Frank is one we have backed for a place, he goes in the Lingfield (19.30) and that’s another that has gone a 7 runner – he does look better suited with a bit of give and despite Pat Cosgrave up top there’s just wipes yer face 11/2 about him with those two places and he maybe better placed on ‘Autumnwatch’.

Members selections are below……

2.30 Chesham Stakes (Listed) (1) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
119p 10. NATALIE’S JOY Mark Johnston Joe Fanning
108 11. NEW WINDS Mark Johnston James Doyle
107p 9. BEYOND REASON Charlie Appleby William Buick

Analyst’s Verdict:
Natalie’s Joy posted a mighty timefigure on debut when impressively winning at Goodwood last month and will take plenty of beating. Arthur Kitt should step up on the form of his Haydock debut win and is respected. Beyond Reason is another lively contender after her taking victory at Kempton.

3.05 Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m3f211y

Timeform Top Rated
141p 3. CRYSTAL OCEAN Sir Michael Stoute Ryan Moore
139 4. IDAHO Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien

Analyst’s Verdict:
Sir Michael Stoute has an excellent record in this race, and Crystal Ocean is strongly fancied to provide him with further success. Unbeaten both starts this year, he looks a top-class colt in the making. Barsanti is a really likable sort who should continue to give a good account, while last year’s winner Idaho needs to shake off a lacklustre effort in the Coronation Cup at Epsom.

3.40 Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed) (1) 5f

Timeform Top Rated
114p 28. QUEEN OF BERMUDA William Haggas James Doyle
112p 19. SABRE Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
110p 27. MOONLIGHT ROMANCE Wesley A. Ward Joel Rosario

Analyst’s Verdict:
Given that Moonlight Romance pulled a long way clear with subsequent Norfolk Stakes winner Shang Shang Shang on debut, then got off the mark with ease, she should have enough ability to capitalise on what look like ideal circumstances, drawn to grab the stand rail and attempt to make all. Queen of Bermuda is her biggest danger ahead of the maiden Isle of Innisfree.

4.20 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) (1) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
143 4. HARRY ANGEL Clive Cox Adam Kirby
138 9. REDKIRK WARRIOR David & B Hayes/Tom Dabernig Frankie Dettori
137 7. MERCHANT NAVY Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Last year’s winner The Tin Man has a very good record over this C&D and seems sure to be spot on for this following his win at Windsor last month. Merchant Navy was impressive on his stable debut and is sure to prove popular given connections, while Harry Angel and Redkirk Warrior look serious players, too.

5.00 Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (2) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
129p 7. DREAMFIELD John Gosden James Doyle
128 15. SPRING LOADED Paul D’Arcy Shane Kelly
126 10. GROWL Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan

Analyst’s Verdict:
This race revolves around Dreamfield, the proverbial pattern-class performer masquerading as a handicapper. Admittedly, he’s a short price for a race such as this but his C&D reappearance victory was impressive and he can land this prize before going on to better things. Growl, George Bowen and Mr Lupton, all trained by Richard Fahey, are live each-way players, as are Victory Angel and Gilgamesh.

5.35 Queen Alexandra Stakes (Conditions) (2) 2m5f143y

Timeform Top Rated
129 11. THOMAS HOBSON W. P. Mullins Ryan Moore
124 12. COUNT OCTAVE Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
122 3. NEARLY CAUGHT Hughie Morrison James Doyle

Analyst’s Verdict:
Thomas Hobson had won the Ascot Stakes only 4 days earlier when beaten favourite in this 12 months ago but this has been the main target this time and he can provide his stable with a third win in the meeting finale since 2012. The Qatar Racing pair Count Octave and Pallasator, who returns to the level after a productive spell hurdling, could be the ones to give the selection most to do.
