Awesome Allan could be considered a little unlucky last night – he was a length and a half down at the finish after being hampered at the furlong pole and then ran on really well into 3rd – the less said about Kupa River’s run the better. It was a strange one with the obvious expectation and going off the favourite. However, it was a tad better than wipes yer face day and looking back on the ‘first month’…….we had a nice 12/1 winner, a couple of 12/1 3rds and a very nearly with Hanagan at Ponty…..in under a double handful of selections. That’s got us into an early profit already with over 45% ROI and we’d settle for that come September 🙂

We got a few responses via email on Charles Bishop – surprise surprise he landed one from 3 yesterday….that was for EJ-H and he has two rides out today at Brighton. One of those is on Super Julius in the 15.25 and he was one we noted in our Craven Meeting notes. He’s a bit short for our approach but possibly one for those of you ‘lumpers’ out there?

Elsewhere there’s too much 7 runner action for us – Seduce Me goes at Nottingham at wipes yer face prices with Jim Crowley up top in the 15.35. whilst Canberra Cliffs was a progressive 3yo last spring and now under the guidance of George Moore who has had may a winner here. She’s up against a short priced Gosden runner and had there been 3 paying slots may have took that one on at around 8’s.

Timeform is for the Nottingham meet and as ever, please drop us a line at feedback@always-back-winners.com with any questions…..

Analyst’s Verdict:
Skeetah is bred to be an early type and his price tag increased at the Breeze Ups, so a bold bid on debut would come as no surprise. Delft Dancer is sure to step up on her opening run so has to be feared.

Timeform Top Rated:

Analyst’s Verdict:
The 6f AW minor event Mushtaq landed in December worked out well, and assuming he’s as effective over this trip on grass, he is capable of going in again. Eledeed is an obvious contender on paper, with Giovanni another to consider following his pleasing introduction.

Analyst’s Verdict:
Last Enchantment, Tig Tog and Lady Alavesa all surpassed their juvenile form when placed on reappearance and look the trio to focus on, with preference for the first-named filly as she looked a shade unlucky not to win at Lingfield.

Analyst’s Verdict:
Red Tea was just touched off in a stronger race than this at Newmarket a fortnight ago, and though up 3 lb, her claims are fairly obvious. Prying Pandora won second start back last season so is feared most with her reappearance behind her.

108 7. PRYING PANDORA Richard Fahey Patrick Mathers

Analyst’s Verdict:
Maid Up is bred for this sort of trip, and following her eye-catching run in a Newmarket maiden 12 days ago, is selected to make a winning handicap debut. Double Reflection, Apache Blaze and Renny’s Lady all arrive on the back of excellent efforts and head the opposition.

Timeform Top Rated:

Analyst’s Verdict:
Slunovrat doesn’t stand much racing, but does have a good record fresh, so this could be the time to catch him. Zenafire also has an absence to overcome but figures on a tempting mark on the pick of last year’s form.

Timeform Top Rated:
102 5. ZENAFIRE Sarah Hollinshead Patrick Mathers

96 3. THISTIMENEXTYEAR Richard Spencer Sean Levey

5.05 Champions League Betting At 188Bet Handicap (4) 5f8y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Dotted Swiss wasn’t seen to best effect at Kempton last time, so likely remains in top form, and this could be set up nicely for her. Samovar and The Golden Cue occupied the first 2 positions in a C&D handicap recently and there shouldn’t be much between them again.

Timeform Top Rated:
95 3. DOTTED SWISS Richard Hannon Sean Levey
94 7. THE GOLDEN CUE Steph Hollinshead Toby Eley (7)
93 5. ANGEL FORCE David C. Griffiths David Allan
