A cracking 12/1 winner for members yesterday as SHEEPSCAR LAD did the business for one of our former connections Nigel Tinkler – there was a bit of a bonus drift from the early 10’s price and he still looks to have a bit in hand.

It’s the jumps today at Sandown following yesterday’s bet365 Classic Trials Day where Lincoln winner Addeybb was an impressive winner of the C3 handicap. There’s Timeform below for the bet365 jump finale from the Esher.

It’s a little quiet from us today…..Leicester has nothing of appeal.

At Haydock, looking at the handicaps, MJJACK goes in the 14.20 who ran out an easy winner and noted in our Craven Meeting Review post meeting – he’s a little tight on price at 3’s for us to get involved EW though should run a big race. He has a good draw and should hold the likes of re-opposing Medieval who has to come from 12.

The 15.15 should see Kevin Ryan’s Scrutiny run well back on the turf  whilst in the 16.50, Tom Dascombe is bang on and the partnership with Richard Kingscote seems to be a ‘gift that keeps on giving’ :)- Punkawallah is their charge and another favourite, though at odds not allowing any EW punts.

Mont des Avaloirs’ Tolworth performance certainly looks better now than it did at the time, and following a smooth win in novice company 17 days ago, he looks capable of conceding weight all round on this handicap debut. Ballymoy is progressing fast over hurdles so has to go on the shortlist, with Equus Amadeus one who should relish this big-field scenario.

Analyst’s Verdict:
Top Notch looked better than ever when landing a pair of Grade 2 contests late last year and, easily excused a rare blip in the Ascot Chase in February, he is fancied to get back on the up and concede weight all round. Double Shuffle had looked an improved model prior to disappointing in the Bowl at Aintree, but Art Mauresque, who arrives a fresh horse, may emerge as the chief threat.

Analyst’s Verdict:
Altior is arguably the best jumper of any description at the moment after his totally dominant performance in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham and he can win this for the second successive season. Special Tiara should have his ideal conditions and is selected for the forecast ahead of progressive-novice Diego du Charmil.

Analyst’s Verdict:
Plenty to consider as usual but it could be worth chancing the very lightly-raced novice Step Back, who already looks an assured jumper and is sure to go on improving after his impressive win at Fakenham earlier this month. Nigel Twiston-Davies holds a strong hand with Bigbadjohn and Blaklion, while Missed Approach seemed to show the benefit of a wind operation when a game winner of the Kim Muir.

This may well develop into a match between Wholestone and Call Me Lord. The former has some solid efforts at Grade 1 level to his name this term, including at Cheltenham and Aintree, and he shades the vote under Daryl Jacob despite conceding 6 lb to his chief market rival.

War Sound split a pair of next-time-out winners when runner-up at Uttoxeter 3 weeks ago, just outstayed by a stronger stayer on heavy ground. His mark looks a fair one on that evidence and he can strike. Geordie des Champs and Markov can give him most to do.

Analyst’s Verdict:
Wilde Blue Yonder’s strong novice form sticks in the mind, particularly as he shaped as if as good as ever without everything going his way at Aintree last time. He can reverse the form with Jester Jet on better terms, but there are several others to worry about in this competitive affair, most notably the unexposed Soul Emotion and C&D winner Wait For Me.
