A nice winner yesterday from our pair of selections as SOMCHINE ran up to his best given the angle we laid out in the post……nice when things run to plan and it does carry on our nice run of profit building during 2018.

Blog posts auto link to our FaceBook page now…..it’s like stepping back to our roots and where we kicked off in April 2013. We’ll look to auto link to Twitter next, although to be honest, we haven’t been heavy users of that platform.

Back to Today….

Towcester and Wetherby today with Timeform for the former below, however there’s not a whole lot going for it in terms of trackers and it’s Wetherby where our focus is. The 16.45 C3 Chase is ‘technically’ the best race on the card and question marks over quite a few. It’s gone a seven runner now and looking at value outside of the two market leaders, it was Silver Tassie who caught our eye but if anything, does seem to struggle going left handed. The race prior sees anothe couple of strong market leaders and perhaps Jonjo’s Brascoe could run a decent race at lofty odds now  hurdling. He had a freshening spin in a bumper LTO but is an ex-Irish place pointer who we know has run well at 3miles.

However it’s the race before that 15.40 that sees our focus interest today and our selection is below……

2.10 Ladies Night At Towcester Racecourse Mares’ Maiden Hurdle (5) 1m7f151y

Timeform Top Rated:
126 5. PHOENICIANA Lucy Wadham Maxime Tissier (7)
122 10. THE CRAZED MOON Henry Oliver Jason Dixon (10)
118 7. SCHAP Caroline Fryer Fergus Gregory (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Phoeniciana has posted some solid efforts in defeat and she returns to this discipline with a good chance of gaining her first success. The Crazed Moon and Schap are other likely players.

2.45 Towcester Hospitality On A Friday And Saturday Evening Handicap Chase (5) 3m102y

Timeform Top Rated:
109 5. MIDNIGHT MUSTANG Andrew Martin Mikey Hamill
107 1. DONTMINDDBOYS Robin Dickin Jack Quinlan
106 4. BIG TIME FRANK Polly Gundry Andrew Thornton

Analyst’s Verdict:
Midnight Mustang ended last season in good form and is likely to be much sharper for his reappearance, so he receives the vote. Dontminddboys can make his presence felt again, while Big Time Frank would be a threat if first-time cheekpieces work the oracle.

3.20 Bet Online Now! Starsports.Bet Handicap Hurdle (4) 1m7f151y

Timeform Top Rated:
122 10. CATCHIN TIME Laura Hurley Miss Page Fuller (5)
121 3. THE GREEN OGRE Gary Moore Joshua Moore
120 4. UNDISPUTED Noel Williams Harry Teal (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
It might be worth taking a chance on Catchin Time, who took a step back in the right direction last time and is well handicapped with ground conditions in his favour. The Green Ogre was back on song when second at Fontwell last time and is sure to be thereabouts with a repeat, while Undisputed ran nicely back from a short break recently and should cope with the shorter trip.

3.55 Sheila Ware’s 80th Birthday Bash Chase (Novices’ Limited Handicap) (3) 2m20y

Timeform Top Rated:
136 1. BURRENBRIDGE HOTEL Henry Oliver Tom O’Brien
134 2. PRAIRIE TOWN Tony Carroll Lee Edwards
132 4. SKIPPING ON Laura Morgan Patrick Cowley (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Burrenbridge Hotel was impressive when landing back-to-back chase events late last year and couldn’t have been 100% when failing to meet expectations at Hereford 3 weeks ago. He’s worth another chance to bounce back, with Prairie Town fancied to give him most to do.

4.25 Call Star Sports On 08000 521 321 Novices’ Hurdle (4) 2m3f34y

Timeform Top Rated:
145 1. DR DES Henry Oliver James Davies
133+ 2. PITON PETE Oliver Sherwood Harrison Beswick (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
An excellent opportunity for Dr Des to regain the winning thread back down in class. The in-form Piton Pete should at least make a race of it.

4.55 starspreads.com Handicap Chase (4) 2m3f179y

Timeform Top Rated:
124 5. THE BAY BIRCH Matt Sheppard Stan Sheppard (3)
121 1. LOOKS LIKE POWER Debra Hamer Trevor Whelan
119 2. INDIAN NATIVE Alex Hales Kielan Woods

Analyst’s Verdict:
The Bay Birch and Looks Like Power bring the best recent form to the table and look the pair to focus on, the former narrowly preferred to come out on top. Indian Native looks best of the other trio.

5.25 Visit Star Sports In Mayfair Maiden National Hunt Flat (Conditional Jockeys’ And Amateur Riders’) (5) 1m7f151y

Timeform Top Rated:
106 9. CHEQUERED VIEW Martin Keighley Harry Stock (5)
102 12. THANK YOU BEFORE Gary Moore Harry Teal (7)
101 4. J’AI FROID Ben Case Max Kendrick (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Captain Drake makes plenty of appeal on paper in a bumper that probably won’t take much winning. Yesandno has a similar profile to the selection and is likely to emerge as the chief threat.

Visit Easter Irish Racing Special 2018

We have promoted Declan a few times and you have all come back with positive responses.…..into profitable betting on the Irish Racing.

Declan has years of experience …..in January 1979 he started work as the Sports Sub Editor for the Evening Press and spent over 16 years working for The Irish Press Group before joining The Irish Sun in December 1995 as a Racing Correspondent.

Successful tipping was obviously a key component of the job, and finished second in the Irish Field naps competition last year.

Historically his big tipping claim to fame is that he had the first five winners – from six races – on the opening day at Cheltenham in 2000 which made front and back page news. He also tipped two 20/1 Galway Plate winners in three years, and the Powers Gold Cup on Easter Sunday – now the Ryanair Gold Cup – has also been very lucky for him with Jadanli 25/1 and One Cool Cookie 12/1 winners which immediately spring to mind.

For all that jumping success, the Irish flat racing scene is his speciality,- nobody comes near to his depth knowledge and achievements.

Big race and classic successes include Irish Derby winner Frozen Fire 20/1, Black Minnaloushe 20/1, Voleur De Couers 9/1, Yesterday 6/1, Halfway To Heaven 13/2, Misty For Me 10/1, 5/1 and 100/30.

Recent Royal Ascot gems include Roca Tuma 20/1, Domination 12/1, Lolly For Dolly 11/1, Bracelet 10/1, Declaration Of War 15/2 and Mustajeeb 9/2.

Over the Easter weekend we’re looking forward to two fantastic Irish Festivals though it’s an area we will not be covering in our selections……

Both Cork and Fairyhouse host these highlights of the Irish sporting calendar and with plenty of races over the 4 days this is going to be a wild Spring weekend of betting for all serious horse racing fans.

The Cork Easter Festival runs from Saturday 31st March – Monday 2nd April and the Fairyhouse Festival which includes the Irish Grand National runs from Sunday 1st April – Tuesday 3rd April 2018.

Today you’re invited to join in on the racing and betting action. Our top contact in Ireland Declan anticipates plenty of very high quality selections over the 4 days and has agreed to share his best bets with a maximum of 200 of our readers on a first come first served basis.
