Monday – 9th April 2018

The last week of our NH campaign and the Grand National meeting will culminate the season and hopefully another couple of winners to drive those profits northwards a tad. We will however post the occasional NH selection through to May as the last 2 weeks in April will be more a watchful brief on the flat.

Today there’s a rare Monday meet from Kempton with Ludlow and Wincanton to back that up. Speed ratings are for the evening AW meet from Wolves.

Our members selection’s are below and as ever, please drop us a line at feedback@always-back-winners.com with any questions.

5.15 myracing.com For Free Wolverhampton Tips Handicap (6) 7f36y

Timeform Top Rated:
74 1. LORD MURPHY Daniel Loughnane Andrew Mullen
72 2. DALNESS EXPRESS John O’Shea Luke Morris
71 11. SIMMO’S PARTYTRICK Geoffrey Harker David Allan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lord Murphy has been knocking on the door in similar races for some time now, and from the inside stall, is taken to gain reward for his consistency. Ad Vitam, Dalness Express and Black Truffle head the opposition.

5.45 Follow @myracingtips On Twitter Fillies’ Novice Stakes (5) 7f36y

Timeform Top Rated:
89p 2. BESHAAYIR William Haggas James Doyle
75+ 6. RASIMA Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni
70p 3. NORTHERN ANGEL John Quinn Jason Hart

Analyst’s Verdict:
Beshaayir confirmed the promise of her debut when landing a well-contested Newbury maiden in September, and this 1000 Guineas entrant should take all the beating. Rasima should have more to offer this year, while newcomer Katleen is bred for the AW and is well related.

6.15 wolverhamptonracecourse.co.uk Conditions Stakes (3) 5f21y

Timeform Top Rated:
126 4. GOLDREAM Robert Cowell James Doyle
121 2. DOUBLE UP Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni
120 1. DOCTOR SARDONICUS Tom Dascombe Martin Harley

Analyst’s Verdict:
A very useful but tricky-to-assess minor contest. Double Up failed to fire in the All-Weather Sprint Championships 10 days ago, but this is more realistic and perhaps blinkers will help him, too. Goldream lacks a run so Doctor Sardonicus is feared most, though Wolowitz adds intrigue to the race.

6.45 myracing.com For Free Bets & Free Tips Handicap (7) 1½m51y

Timeform Top Rated:
71 3. OUTRATH Suzi Best Charles Bishop
70 11. OCEAN GALE Richard Price David Probert
69 4. MR FRANKIE Roy Brotherton Eoin Walsh (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Outrath was well prepared following an absence when successful at Kempton in February, and given time to recover from that, is expected to remain very competitive at this level. Oyster Card also won last time, while Gee Sixty Six may settle a bit better now headgear has been removed.

7.15 Wolverhampton Family Fun Day August 10th Handicap (6) 1m1f104y

Timeform Top Rated:
76 2. LET ME IN Bernard Llewellyn Jason Watson (7)
75 3. WINDSORLOT Tony Carroll George Downing
74 6. MARAAKIB Alexandra Dunn Kieran O’Neill

Analyst’s Verdict:
Let Me In was placed all 3 starts over this C&D last month from this mark, and is surely going to win one these sooner rather than later. Emigrated did beat the selection on one of those occasions and wasn’t seen to best effect last time, so is feared most, ahead of Glorious Asset.

7.45 myracing.com Handicap (4) 2m120y

Timeform Top Rated:
96 1. GREAT RETURN Warren Greatrex Edward Greatrex
95 2. ANGEL GABRIAL Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
92 8. SHERIFF GARRETT Tim Easterby David Allan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Great Return‘s form took off over the winter, and though he returns from a break up 6 lb, he could easily shrug that off. Angel Gabrial has been given a huge chance by the assessor and the market will help gauge his well-being on return, with Bardd another to consider on handicap debut.

8.15 myracing.com For Grand National Tips Handicap (6) (D.I) 1m142y

Timeform Top Rated:
80 8. THE KING’S STEED Shaun Lycett Kieran Shoemark
78+ 3. IBERICA ROAD Grant Tuer Phillip Makin
77 9. CARLOVIAN Mark Walford Jason Hart

Analyst’s Verdict:
The King’s Steed came up short in his hat-trick bid at Lingfield on Wednesday, but he lost little in defeat under a penalty, and can race from 5 lb lower here, so his claims are fairly obvious. Check ‘Em Tuesday remains with handicap scope and is feared most, ahead of Tellovoi.

8.45 myracing.com For Grand National Tips Handicap (6) (D.II) 1m142y

Timeform Top Rated:
80 3. IT’S HOW WE ROLL John Spearing Luke Morris
77 1. STREET POET Michael Herrington Robert Winston
75 10. STAMP DUTY Suzzanne France Jason Hart

Analyst’s Verdict:
It’s How We Roll is still a maiden, but has it in him to win a race like this, so is chanced in the hope he’s fully fit on this return from 6 months off. Gone With The Wind and Street Poet are solid alternatives.
