Today’s two flat cards are virtually solid C1 & C2 through the board leaving just a sole C3 at York to look at as the Cesarewitch and Dewhurst are the stand out races on a high quality day at Newmarket. We hope Eric Alston gets a nice run out of Maid In India in the 16.50 stepped up to a C1 – she won well up Ponty’s stiff hill and will probably attempt to make all today under Martin Harley with double digit prices for those looking at a small EW nibble.

At York, in the Coral sprint (15.15)….Flying Pursuit won the ‘wrong side’ race in the Ayr Gold Cup LTO and Rachel Richardson must have an excellent chance on going one better if running to that mark for Tim Easterby. Nevertheless, it’s a shortish priced 7/1 and not a play for us looking at the highly competitive field. Something like Brian The Snail has the ability to go well and another who ran the best of the Ayr centre field runners, Richard Fahey will be keen to finish with a winner on the last York meet of the season and he appeals of double digit odds.

Previous winner, Remember The Days is sent hurdling by Jedd O’Keeffe for the fist time at Hexham (14.50) and will be interesting to see whether he features through our NH season.

From yesterday’s notes….our LTO winner Camacho Chief followed up with another excellent run off the pace whilst the one we identified with some value, Copper Knight ended that ‘winning after July hoodoo’ and showed his class and welcomed the drop to C3 for a first win in that grade.

We’ve one below for members at a decent double digit EW price.

1.50 Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes (Listed) (1) 1¼m

Timeform Top Rated:
119p 4. SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien
113 7. I’LL HAVE ANOTHER Mark Johnston Silvestre De Sousa
112p 3. NORWAY Aidan O’Brien Seamie Heffernan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Sydney Opera House‘s second to a stable companion in the Royal Lodge is the best form on offer, and he’s sure to find more over this longer trip. Stablemate Norway was much improved to win a maiden at Naas recently, and he too has a bigger performance in him now upped in trip. Waldstern needs to improve to trouble the O’Brien pair, but he’s wellbred and will also be suited by the test of stamina.

2.25 Masar Godolphin Autumn Stakes (Group 3) (1) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
121p 8. PERSIAN KING A. Fabre Pierre-Charles Boudot
115p 9. WESTERN AUSTRALIA Aidan O’Brien W. M. Lordan
110p 6. MASSAM Mark Johnston Silvestre De Sousa

Analyst’s Verdict:
Persian King looked a smart colt in the making when winning comfortably at Chantilly 4 weeks ago, and sets a tall standard for the others to aim at. Magna Grecia is highly promising himself and is the one most likely to bridge the gap, though Kadar is an unknown quantity as well.

3.00 Darley Dewhurst Stakes (Group 1) (1) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
134p 7. TOO DARN HOT John Gosden Frankie Dettori
133p 2. ANTHONY VAN DYCK Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien
126p 1. ADVERTISE Martyn Meade Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Too Darn Hot produced a performance right out of the top drawer in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last month and he looks the one to beat on that evidence. Anthony Van Dyck may prove the chief threat following his second to the hugely exciting Quorto in the National Stakes at the Curragh, though Sangarius and Advertise are others to consider in a mouth-watering affair.

3.40 Dubai £500,000 Cesarewitch Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (2) 2¼m

Timeform Top Rated:
122 25. LAW GIRL W. P. Mullins Jason Watson
120p 14. SOUTHERN FRANCE Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien
120 28. THEGLASGOWWARRIOR Jim Goldie Jamie Gormley (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
A fiercely competitive renewal with the narrow vote in favour of Low Sun. An impressive winner on the Flat/over hurdles earlier this term, he wasn’t seen to anything like best effect last time and this sort of test promises to suit. Speedo Boy still looks fairly treated and is respected for all his wide draw is a concern. Stratum, Just In Time and Southern France also make the shortlist.

4.15 #Mydubai Nursery Handicap (2) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
105p 5. HAPPY POWER Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
104 2. BARONIAL PRIDE Richard Fahey Tony Hamilton
103 4. SHALLOW HAL K. R. Burke Shane Kelly

Analyst’s Verdict:
Happy Power‘s opening mark could underestimate him and he makes most appeal with further progress on the cards. Watchmyeverymove looks sure to be suited by this step up in trip after keeping on well at Yarmouth last month. Indian Viceroy and Baronial Pride are other potential threats.

4.50 Dubai Life British EBF Boadicea Stakes (Listed) (1) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
122 14. DIFFERENT LEAGUE Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien
120 2. CELEBRITY D. Moser Adam Kirby
118 16. PERFECTION John Gosden Frankie Dettori

Analyst’s Verdict:
Different League responded well to this headgear when an excellent sixth in the Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp last week and can take advantage of this significant drop in class. Perfection remains unexposed at this trip and may emerge as the biggest threat ahead of penalised-pair Classical Times and Celebrity.

5.25 Darley Stakes (Group 3) (1) 1m1f

Timeform Top Rated:
129 4. TRAIS FLUORS A. Fabre Pierre-Charles Boudot
126 2. EUGINIO Richard Hannon Hayley Turner
125 1. FOREST RANGER Richard Fahey Tony Hamilton

Analyst’s Verdict:
Trais Fluors wasn’t at his very best in the Jacques Le Marois on his most recent start, yet the pick of his form this term leaves him with sound claims back at this level and he can resume winning ways equipped with first-time cheekpieces. Forest Ranger and Gabr are feared though, as is Awesometank.
