Kenny The Captain just got nabbed close home which was a bit gutting after being heavily backed from the early 8’s into 7/2f….hopefully most of you got that early BOG price and took a bit of place money. However, fear that we have lost the opportunity for a big win about him likely to be up more than the 2lb he was due to be getting after this race. Hopefully we have a few more under the radar like him before the season’s up and catch a big price that we’re a bit overdue. Nonetheless, that place money finally took us through the £3k.….well about £2.06 to be precise but that’s better than £2.06 shy 🙂

Back to today and there’s more Donny with meets at Sandown, Chester and Salisbury.

There’s nothing from us for Donny today, though there’s supporting Timeform below for those keen to get involved with the St Leger meet, whilst at Chester, Intense Style goes in a ‘gentleman amateurs’ (17.15)…………..we had been waiting for him to drop to a C5 but he turns up here in a C4 at nearly wipes yer face prices and nicely drawn in trap 3 for those looking outside of member selections.

We had hoped for one at Salisbury today but more ‘chafing’ problems means that races on the round course have been abandoned and it’s an abridged card – that leaves us with just one for  the members below from Sandown……..BOL with your bets today.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 190% to over £2.9k with an ROI of over 25%….current stakes are now £37.07 EW.

1.50 Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes (Group 3) (1) 7f6y

Timeform Top Rated
128+ 3. LAUGH ALOUD John Gosden James Doyle
123 2. DANCING STAR Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
122 5. ANNA NERIUM Richard Hannon Tom Marquand

Analyst’s Verdict:
Anna Nerium made it 3-4 over this trip when landing a Group 3 at Goodwood last time and, with conditions again in her favour, she is taken to strike again. Laugh Aloud is entitled to come on for her recent comeback spin, but Dancing Star and Dan’s Dream both returned to form when going close last time and may emerge as the main dangers. Ellthea is also worthy of consideration.

2.25 Wainwrights Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2) (1) 5f3y

Timeform Top Rated
125p 3. RUMBLE INTHEJUNGLE Richard Spencer Tom Queally
122 2. LEGENDS OF WAR John Gosden Oisin Murphy
119 9. GOSSAMER WINGS Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Rumble Inthejungle is taken to go one better in this race than his sire, who was runner-up in the 2012 renewal. Richard Spencer’s charge looked a smart sprinter in the making when landing the Molecomb at Goodwood and that form is comfortably the best on offer here. Legends of War needs considering on the back of his effort in the Gimcrack, but Gossamer Wings may be the one for the forecast.

3.00 William Hill Mallard Handicap (2) 1¾m115y

Timeform Top Rated
119 12. AUSTRIAN SCHOOL Mark Johnston Joe Fanning
117 7. SPEEDO BOY Ian Williams Ryan Moore
116 3. NAKEETA Iain Jardine Callum Rodriguez (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
The vote goes to Speedo Boy, who did well to finish as close as he did when third in a valuable York handicap last time and the booking of Ryan Moore adds to his appeal. Austrian School looks rock-solid and is next on the list ahead of Walton Street, who is unexposed over this sort of trip. On To Victory could go well at a price with conditions in his favour and Ben Vrackie is also of interest.

3.35 Doncaster Cup Stakes (Group 2) (1) 2m1f197y

Timeform Top Rated
126 1. ALGOMETER David Simcock Oisin Murphy
124 8. THOMAS HOBSON W. P. Mullins Ryan Moore
123 3. LORD YEATS Jedd O’Keeffe Graham Lee

Analyst’s Verdict:
Thomas Hobson chased home Desert Skyline in this race last year and should be spot-on in his bid to go one better this time round, having performed with credit over an inadequate trip when returning from a 2-month break at the Curragh recently. Sheikhzayedroad, who was just behind the selection 12 months ago, is feared most, albeit his stablemate Algometer is also accorded respect.

4.05 Weatherbys Global Stallions App Flying Scotsman Stakes (Listed) (1) 7f6y

Timeform Top Rated
112P 7. SANGARIUS Sir Michael Stoute Ryan Moore
111 3. DUBAI DOMINION Ed Vaughan Oisin Murphy
111? 9. CHYNNA Mick Channon Andrea Atzeni

Analyst’s Verdict:
Sangarius is potentially a cut-above these judged on the abundant promise of his debut success at Newmarket. The form of the Newbury maiden Athmad landed last month looks decent and he gets the nod ahead of Dubai Dominion and Jonah Jones for forecast purposes.

4.40 Gary Reid Memorial British EBF Maiden Stakes (Sire And Dam-Restricted) (3) 7f6y

Timeform Top Rated
98p 1. BUFFALO RIVER John Gosden Robert Havlin
70p 5. ROYAL MARINE Saeed bin Suroor Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
It’s surely significant that Frankie Dettori partners newcomer Turgenev given that he presumably had the option of siding with Buffalo River, who shaped like a sure-fire future winner on debut at Sandown. If the market also points to Turgenev being the stable first string, the hint should be taken. Politicise and Monsieur Noir are other newcomers to note and Royal Marine is a likely improver.

5.10 Lakeside Village Outlet Shopper Handicap (2) 6f111y

Timeform Top Rated
118 4. LAKE VOLTA Mark Johnston William Buick
117 5. SHANGHAI GLORY Charles Hills Ryan Moore
116 11. DARK POWER Clive Cox Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
Unlike at Ripon last time, Shanghai Glory should have his conditions here and he shaped as though his turn could be near when runner-up on penultimate start. On a fair mark and with Ryan Moore in the hot-seat, he is marginally preferred to Lake Volta, who arrives here on the back of a couple of solid efforts in hot handicaps. Al Erayg, who caught the eye at Chester, also enters calculations.

5.45 Coopers Marquees Classified Stakes (3) 1¼m43y

Timeform Top Rated
106 3. SPEED COMPANY John Quinn Oisin Murphy
105 4. JACK REGAN Ian Williams Ryan Moore
102 2. FLIGHT OF FANTASY Harry Dunlop Kieran O’Neill

Analyst’s Verdict:
Speed Company was given too much to do at Ayr last time and is presented with a golden opportunity to get his head back in front. John Quinn’s charge may have most to fear from recent AW maiden winner Loveisili, though Jack Regan also merits respect with Ryan Moore doing the steering.
