Friday Newsletter – 17th May 2019
The Dante Festival culminates today with the Yorkshire Cup Stakes where last years unbeaten stayer, Stradivarius bids to retain the trophy he won last year, before going onto winning The Ascot Gold Cup.
Outside of that there’s a C2 of interest where one of last seasons winners goes. On top of that there’s meets at HQ, Newbury and Hamilton on the evening.
At HQ Les Eyre’s Dawaaleeb goes on what would be third run for us as a members selection (16.45). He’s on around 13/2 and our past comments still stand that we think he can land a decent pot at a price for us. However, there’s another tracker in that one with Paul Cole’s Medieval who’s looking very well treated – It’s just a 7 runner and with just two paying slots we’ll take a watching brief.
At Newbury, one of our old favourites, Eve J-H’s Ice Age goes under the Bishop (14.10), at wipes yer face 11/2, he should be ripe from his run at Ripon where he didn’t enjoy the draw from the wrong side of the track as it proved. Whilst north of the border this evening, Kripke from the trackers bids for a 3 timer (18.25) and on at lumping odds for David Barron and his ‘Bang Goes The Theory’ charge.
Yesterday we had no official members selections, but those of you throwing small shrapnel at the occasional musings in the intro found a nice Keith Dalgleish winner, with Whats The Story (9/1) at York and then young Oliver Searle notched a place at Salisbury on Crystal Casque (7/1) for Rod Millman.
