More fun and games with the members selection as Tom Queally’s mount Blazed, exited the stalls at right angles barging into Dandy Highwayman and in turn our selection Tallinski.….quite what effect it had at the end of the day is open to speculation but maybe today we will get a good clean fight 🙂 and we can add to Mondays winner and get through that £2k marker?

On to today….there’s Timeform for the HQ meet where Chief Ironside would be our banker as a lumper in the 20.30, he was 3rd in the Al Zubarah London Gold Cup Handicap at Newbury. He goes up against our former C4 winner Rotherwick who had a perfectly run hold up race at Windsor the other week  – winning jock David Probert switches to Andrew Balding’s enigmatic Brorocco.

We’ve 2 for members below to finish the week…..

5.35 Fly London Southend Airport To Perpignan Handicap (5) 1m

Timeform Top Rated
84 6. SHAMAHEART Geoffrey Harker Silvestre De Sousa
83 2. POUR LA VICTOIRE Tony Carroll Poppy Bridgwater (7)
83 7. GARTH ROCKETT Brendan Powell Martin Dwyer

Analyst’s Verdict:
Pour La Victoire escapes a penalty following last week’s C&D success and is taken to follow up in this competitive heat. Spirit of Sarwan was only a neck adrift of the selection that day and should again be in the mix but bigger threats may be posed by Shamaheart, who returned to form when going close at Nottingham recently, and easy Chelmsford winner Garth Rockett.

6.10 Fly London Southend Airport To Milan EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (4) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
92 7. ROLLICKING Richard Hannon Dane O’Neill
63 2. HALLALULU Ed Dunlop Fran Berry

Analyst’s Verdict:
While there are several intriguing newcomers on show, Rollicking may well put her experience to good use. She stepped up on her debut when a close third at Haydock 16 days ago, form which received a timely boost when the fourth won at Newbury on Tuesday. Confidence behind Lover’s Knot in the betting would look significant but Thoughtfully is bred to make a speedy 2-y-o and is next on the list.

6.45 Fly London Southend Airport To Lyon Handicap (4) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
98p 6. NICKLAUS William Haggas James Doyle
95 1. WEELLAN David O’Meara Fran Berry
94 7. JACKPOT ROYALE Michael Appleby Martin Dwyer

Analyst’s Verdict:
Hard to rule any of these out and a few of them possess scope to do better still. Nicklausfailed to measure up to expectations on his reappearance but took a step back in the right direction at Yarmouth last time and could be the answer. Excelleration, Eternal Frame and Fakhoor are all interesting now handicapping, particularly the first-named, and Weellan has to be respected in current form.

7.20 Fly London Southend Airport To Prague Handicap (Qualifier) (4) 1m5f

Timeform Top Rated
97p 4. MIDNIGHT BLUE Sir Mark Prescott Bt Luke Morris
92p 2. PIPPIN Hughie Morrison Adam Kirby
91 1. MT AUGUSTUS Henry Candy Fran Berry

Analyst’s Verdict:
Typically for one from the Sir Mark Prescott yard, Midnight Blue has improved no end since switched to handicaps and faced with a stiffer test. She relished the step up to 1½m when winning easily at Lingfield last week and, well ahead of the assessor under a penalty here, a fourth consecutive victory is on the cards. The hat-trick seeking Pippin is the clear main danger ahead of Poetic Steps.

7.55 Fly London Southend Airport To Budapest Fillies’ Handicap (3) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
106 4. GORGEOUS NOORA Luca Cumani Silvestre De Sousa
104 1. TIRANIA William Haggas James Doyle
103 3. MAGICAL DREAMER James Fanshawe George Wood

Analyst’s Verdict:
Gorgeous Noora made an encouraging start to the season when third in a competitive York handicap a fortnight ago and, likely to be sharper now, she looks the way to go. Luca Cumani’s charge may have most to fear from the consistent Magical Dreamer, who regained the winning thread at Goodwood last time and remains on a workable mark. Tirania and Time To Exceed can do battle for minor honours.

8.30 Fly London Southend Airport To Dubrovnik Handicap (2) 1¼m

Timeform Top Rated
110p 9. BREATH CAUGHT Ralph Beckett Harry Bentley
106 6. AY AY David Elsworth Silvestre De Sousa
104 1. BROROCCO Andrew Balding David Probert

Analyst’s Verdict:
The steady gallop did Breath Caught no favours at Haydock and there’s a strong chance that he’ll resume progress now faced with a stiffer test. Indeed, the Bated Breath colt looked one to follow when making a winning reappearance on the Rowley Mile here and is probably capable of better than his current mark implies. Fellow unexposed 3-y-o Chief Ironside is feared most ahead of Ay Ay.

9.00 Fly London Southend Airport To Venice Handicap (4) 1m

Timeform Top Rated
107p 4. ESCALATOR Charlie Fellowes James Doyle
106 6. ARIGATO William Jarvis Silvestre De Sousa
98 1. HASANOANDA John Gosden Robert Havlin

Analyst’s Verdict:
Having been gelded on the back of his qualifying run at Kempton in March, Escalator returned an improved model to make an impressive winning handicap debut at Doncaster 12 days ago. Wisely turned out under a penalty, he is fancied to follow up. Arigato is proving consistent and is feared, along with Hasanoanda, who is steadily going the right way.
