Again just a sole turf meeting at Ascot with no real handicaps to get stuck into. Possibly George offers some EW value in the (14.25) with Jason Watson up top being well proven at this trip and went off to quickly at the head of affairs over an inadequate 7f on the AW at Chelmsford LTO.

There were no member selections yesterday albeit the mention in the intro notes at Lingfield, (17.35) Roundabout Magic gave his usual running in finishing 2nd. There’s Timeform for Gowran below and we’ll be back on the morning with hopefully something of a price at Redcar.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 250% with an ROI of over 25%….current stakes are now £37.80 EW

1.55 Paulstown Maiden Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
135 8. TENTH AMENDMENT Keith Henry Clarke R. C. Colgan
127 4. HYPERDRIVE Mrs J. Harrington Robbie Power
119 11. WINSTON WOLFE Darren Bunyan D. J. O’Keeffe (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Fairly useful Flat winner Panther Soul is in the very best hands to make it as a hurdler so is taken to make a winning start. Hyperdrive and Tenth Amendment are entitled to be competitive on form. Unbeaten bumper performer The Red Menace also needs considering for all that this trip may be on the sharp side for him.

2.30 Racing Again Tomorrow Maiden Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
127 5. JACK DILLINGER Joseph Patrick O’Brien Davy Russell
114 7. TURBINE Denis Hogan D. G. Hogan
92p 8. VOCARIUM Peter Fahey Roger Loughran

Analyst’s Verdict:
Jack Dillinger struggled to make an impact in handicaps for Edward P.Harty, but he sets the standard on his peak form and has joined Joseph Patrick O’Brien, so this could be a good opening back in maiden company. Turbine and Vocarium are the obvious dangers.

3.05 Oss Company Handicap Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
112 13. ISLAND VILLA Peter McCreery B. Hayes
110 1. EMILY SQUARE Thomas Mullins D. J. Mullins
109 9. GLOBAL TOUR Paul W. Flynn Robbie Power

Analyst’s Verdict:
Bective Cave responded well to forceful tactcis when runner-up at Downpatrick last month and a 2 lb rise ought not to prevent a bold bid to go one better. Emily Square arrives on the back of a Flat win and is second choice, with Island Villa another to consider.

3.40 Pat Walsh Memorial Irish European Breeders Fund Mares Hurdle (Listed) 2¼m

Timeform Top Rated:
155 1. GOOD THYNE TARA W. P. Mullins P. Townend
153 5. HOLDING PATTERN Mrs J. Harrington Robbie Power
152 4. AWAYINTHEWEST P. A. Fahy Barry Geraghty

Analyst’s Verdict:
Holding Pattern receives a narrow vote in a good little heat. She’s been running consistently well both on the Flat and over jumps and there should be more races to be won with her. Good Thyne Tara is feared most.

4.15 McDonalds Kilkenny Handicap Hurdle 2½m

Timeform Top Rated:
141 1. ST LAWRENCE GAP Eoin Doyle A. W. Short (3)
140 7. GOLD SEAL Joseph Patrick O’Brien E. T. Daly (7)
139 6. YOU CAN’T CATCH ME Kieran Purcell A. E. Lynch

Analyst’s Verdict:
St Lawrence Gap is well worth this second attempt over 2½m given he stays so well on the Flat and can add to his solid record under both codes of late and make light of top weight. Gold Seal has a largely progressive profile and should go well again, while Punchestown maiden winner Jack Fiasco should have more to offer now switching to handicaps after a break.

4.50 Bring My Bike Handicap Hurdle 2½m

Timeform Top Rated:
118 14. EURO SO BRAVE W. J. Austin Trevor Ryan (7)
117 11. FOR PEDRO Thomas Cooper B. J. Cooper
116 1. BALINABOOLA STEEL Garrett James Power D. E. Mullins

Analyst’s Verdict:
Euro So Brave was back to her best when second at Ballinrobe last month and is selected to go one better now. Padraic O Conaire can extend his run of good efforts this term, while Oskar High will be a threat if bouncing back to the level of his penultimate Wexford second.

5.20 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mucklemeg Mares I.N.H. Flat (Listed) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
118 5. CARRIE DES CHAMPS Gordon Elliott Ms Lisa O’Neill
117+ 10. YUKON LIL W. P. Mullins Mr R. Deegan
117 1. QUEENS BOULEVARD W. P. Mullins Mr P. W. Mullins

Analyst’s Verdict:
A cracking contest in store, with Carrie des Champs selected to complete the 4-timer given it’s difficult to know how good she is given the ease she has recorded her victories so far. Queens Boulevard, Scaglietti and Yukon Lil form a strong Willie Mullins team and are probably the main threats.
