We got nothing from our selection yesterday who was badly hampered at a key part of the race so we can only speculate as to whether we would have hit the places with a trouble free run…….’Held up in rear, headway when hampered over 2f out, stayed on well final furlong, never nearer’…as we said in our notes, this one is one for the back end and we’ll take a view where he next appears – hopefully minus any progressive 3yos’ 🙂

Today there’s meets at Ascot, Musselburgh & Haydock with Timeform below is for the 2nd day of Betfred Sprint meet.

There’s nothing for us at Ascot whilst at Haydock our previous selection Hart Stopper looks to have it all to do in a C2 (15.00) despite the assistance of Richard Kingscote – we know some of you are backing our previous selections on next three outings but plenty of these come in off higher winning marks and even the likes of Glen Moss could turn up here.

At Musselburgh, previous winner Tallinski goes at around wipes yer face prices in the (17.00) for Brian Ellison and Old Crazy T is out in the (18.30) and will attempt to make all off bottom weight under Rowan Scott.

Sparkle Roll, a half-sister to last year’s Derby winner Wings of Eagles, hails from a top yard who have sent out a number of fine 2-y-o prospects to win on debut in the last month and she makes plenty of appeal before market clues. Quintada showed a good attitude when making a successful start at Doncaster and looks sure to improve. Gallic can make her presence felt also.

An interesting race with plenty of well-bred sorts on show, including Scat Daddy filly Hidden Message, who is preferred before market clues. Flighty Almighty seems sure to build on a promising debut effort at Ascot in July, while Aldana is another newcomer to note.

Analyst’s Verdict: 
Eastern Impact did comfortably best of those that raced in the less-favoured group when sixth in a competitive sprint handicap at the Ebor Meeting 2 weeks ago and could be ready to strike. Rapid Applause has further mileage in him on evidence of his Sandown run last week and is next best, ahead of Ower Fly.

Major Pusey took this last year off 4 lb higher and looks primed for a big run on just his fifth start of the season and with the track’s leading rider Richard Kingscote booked. Show Palace caught the eye at Carlisle and is weighted to strike returning to Haydock, where he’s won on his last 2 visits. Orient Class, another previous winner of this, Foxy Forever, and Jabbarockie are considered also.

Big Storm Coming is going through a hot spell at present and, granted a clearer run than last time, he boasts excellent claims of gaining his third success from his last 4 starts in a race that should be run at a sound pace. Rum Runner arrives on the back of a career best and Club Wexford has been shaping better than the result recently, so they make appeal provided they don’t go off too hard.

Competitive stuff but Swiss Storm was having only his third run of the season when a good second at Newbury 3 weeks ago and front runners can be hard to peg back around here. Last year’s winner Awake My Soul was a good second at Ripon last time, while Grandee also caught the eye when third in the same race.

Burn Some Dust is a handicapper very much on the up and can make light of a further 3 lb rise and complete a hat-trick for in-form Brian Ellison. The hat-trick seeking Garbanzo is also respected but it could be that the main threat comes from fellow 3-y-os Carnwennan and Nibras Galaxy.
