Horse Racing Selections – 10th May 2021

We kick the week off with meetings at Catterick and Windsor.

There’s a couple of note from the garrison racecourse. Having gotten into May, will look to step up the ante with a few more of the regulation 1.25% stakes on the challenge 🙂

Our sole selection on Saturday, Couldn’t Could She came with a late rattle for some nice place money. Thought we had another Broken Spear on hands as there was a big drift out to around 30’s that I think Brian was snaffling up 🙂

Back in the morning around 8.30 am.

For those on the new 2021/22 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is £1160.92 and current full stakes, unless advised, £14.51 EW

The 2021 Turf bank currently stands at +16 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 42% win/place rate.

The 2020/21 All Weather bank ended at +144 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 39% win/place rate.

  1. No doubt in my mind that Gullane One is close to striking. He is a prominent racer and on gd/soft-sft ground here a mid/high drawn is ok. The big worry i have is, he appears better on straight, flat, galloping tracks. His wins have come at Donny, Hamilton,Ripon and Thirsk. No wins on sharp tracks with a turn. I know he has won at Hamilton which has a stiff uphill finish, but for me if he doesn’t win today he would be very interesting next time out on a track like Donny.

    • Agreed Ian, with no runs here. However he has run Carlisle well enough from the front for a couple of seconds so thought would chance today at these odds.
Reflected in the half stakes 😀

  2. It the betting is correct our two are going to go close. I managed to get 16/1 and 15 /2 but now more like 8/1 and 4/1. I think they will go out a bit but not back to the early prices. Both good selections imo, but i know less than you Gary, just ask that the angles man Richard. Lol.

  3. Nice call on Zumurud Gary. Didn’t get much of a price on the exchange as it was too popular, but winners are what it’s all about.

    • Yep a winners a winner at full stakes, but the price went early which was disappointing for members 🙁

      • Brill selection again today Gary – I did get a good morning price, but it was a steamer as only got about half on the exchange – but as you say winners are winners.

  4. Hi Could anyone confirm what time King of Tonga was withdrawn from the 17.00 at Catterick today I believe it was withdrawn at 08.01 but bet 365 have made a 15% deduction the bet was placed at 08.37
    Thanks Mike Burke

  5. Gary, at line 35 on the spreadsheet (10k page) you’ve got Crownthorpe down twice from what I can see – the other race was RIPPON 18:20 Abel Handy

  6. Not sure Mike but Victor has done same 🤨

  7. Thanks Chris, drag and copy error🙃

  8. King of tonga withdrawn 8.01 according to oddschecker. Pretty much 15p r4 across the board. Very strange!!!

  9. Officially declared non runner at 8.45 according to BHA website so fair enough. Interesting that oddschecker knew almost an hour before everyone else tho!!!
