Horse Racing Selections – 12th April 2022

Tuesday sees the start of Newmarket’s Craven Meeting.

Outside of that there’s a meet at Wolves on the all weather.

At the former there’s a nice Class 2 sprint (13.50). A couple of trackers going with Stone Of Destiny back around the marks of 2020 when he won the Portland and a creditable effort of the wrong side in the Wokingham. Nonetheless has something to prove with some low key runs in Medyan.

We’ll look at our other tracker in that one with 4 places on offer.

Yesterday we had a decent priced place with Secret Potion at 33’s and most getting at least 20’s. Would settle for more of those any day of the week LOL 🙂

  1. The flat season starts today for me. Gary has seven weeks to get back on track and get my belief back in his selection process. I really believe he will do it and hope most have stuck around. Today’s selection Bergerac has fitness on his side compared to those around him in the betting. The stable is going ok but class two races could be beyond this boy. He has tried that grade once and was beaten over ten lengths. He is only four and fairly lightly raced so could be an improver and make up to a class two animal. He is only one pound above his last winning mark but that was in a class three…… The other mention interests me. Stone Of Destiny has ran in better class than this and performed ok. He won the Portland off a one pound higher mark and ran in this last year where he was badly hampered. His stable are going ok with not many winners but plenty hitting the crossbar. A tricky race to start with and certainly not an elk race. let’s hope Gary and Bergerac aren’t running in nosebleed company…. I am off to Portsmouth to spend a couple of days there and watch the mighty millers. Not expecting a lot and a draw would be a good result. Keep The Faith. UTM and UTC.

  2. Hills were offering 5 places, now not taking bets on this race

  3. Stone Of Destiny is back on a workable mark of 95 after reaching a career high mark of 106 last year when beaten 4 lengths by Oxted in last year’s King Stand at Royal Ascot
Not an easy task off top weight but brings some excellent form into the race
And then we have Raatea Did well at the end of last season winning 6f handicap on the July Course and second at Doncaster..
But Bergerac has had the benefit of a recent run Fitness could count for plenty but he is stepping up in grade

  4. sorry I forgot to post POPMASTER Not an easy task off top weight but brings some excellent form into the race

  5. unlucky! looked a dead heat to me….objection??? lol

  6. Hard luck Gary
