Horse Racing Selections – 17th August 2022

Midweek racing from York and Musselburgh.

We’ll skip the first day of the Ebor meet and head to Scotland for today’s sole selection.

There’s a decent Heritage handicap to consider there tomorrow plus a decent sized moose grade at Chepstow 🙂

  1. Ian, sorry didnt get back yesterday. By all accounts it has definitely been the C Games Rugby which has made the pitch unsafe. The events have been ruled out by experts. apparently, news late last night, CCFC and the much hated Wasps have ‘agreed’ to sort it, but no report yet as to WHAT they will do. Simon Jordan interested n buying the Club. We have had 15 years of SISU as awful owners, the ONLY reason we have had a bit of success in last 5 years is 100 % down to Mark robins and his team. No doubt this season will be another roller coaster until above issues sorted. Pleased you have a had a good start, i see Richard Wood still there at 37 🙂 John

    • I think the powers that be John are having the fans pants down. About sixty games of rugby sevens on bone hard ground with no scrums and no long studs on it wouldn’t have made the slightest of difference. As i said the playing surface at NYS was ripped up early May. New grass sown and four womens Euro games played on it in July. For the first game against Swansea on last Saturday of july you could have played crown green bowls on it. You have to want a good surface. Wasps are not bothered what they play on. Wait while they get 15 man rugby on it on heavy going. Wood is still playing and ok until he gets a quick forward against him. Went to Preston last night, a proper rearguard game. We created nothing but our goalie and defence were very good.If we could finish fourth bottom they should give Warne an OBE. Unfortunately we will go down…. Sky still paying the three places which i have taken on Manigordo.

  2. Only 2 places now (9am)

  3. Just accidently clicked my bookmark to here trying to log into work and spotted the ‘Winner post’ 🤣 I thought I was 2 mins away from the race (16.50) – why is dyslexic so hard to spell?

Brilliant work again Gary 🙂 well done 🎉🤑

  4. Well done Gary, nice to get back with a winner again.
Ian, dont know what to make of it with the pitch but all the ‘experts’ have said its the Rugby that has done it – the photos show a right mess. Will be interesting to see how it goes, but there will be a lot of games to catch up on!

  5. Well done again Gary.
    Thsnks
