Horse Racing Selections – 1st February 2020

History is made today with the first Always Back Winners post-Brexit Blog:)

Rest assured, members will not require any new trading agreements with us and our doors remain open….for the time being 🙂

It was a great start to the week with Critical Thinking giving is a 13/2 winner but even nicer to finish with that 10/1 evening winner for Erika Parkinson & Mick Appleby.

However, Callum Rodriguez must have read our comments yesterday, or bitten by a sandfly 🙂 as he blasted out the traps on Red Bond winning unchallenged with our selection My Target placing third.

First of all apologies, we only won just over 48pts profit on the month, but it’s a bit remiss we failed to back Subliminal who was in our intro notes and on at lumping prices who went of at 9’s!!!!

Seriously, we cannot be too greedy, that was an excellent month for us and sees us at just over 90 pts profit for the all-weather and seems to have well-justified our opting out of NH this winter 🙂

For those on the £1k to £10k AW challenge….it’s over 42% win/place strike rate and our bank is now £2561.82 with current stakes £32.02

The opening weekend of February brings meetings from Lingfield and Kempton. The former hosts a couple of Listed races that leaves small pickings for the grades we target.

There’s nothing of interest to us in the opener (13.10), whilst previous winner, King Athelstan is upped in trip for the (16.05). There’s not a whole load of value about him or the other tracker, P D Evans trained Herm. That one seems better at Wolves so the former is possibly solid for EW lumping acca’s give the way he stayed on here in his winning race for us LTO with favourite Amanto may be finding this a bit sharp compared to his usual 2m exploits?

At Kempton, another short-priced tracker, Shamameya goes in the (18.15) and we’ll look to the latter races for some value.

Today’s Selections

……a nice cigar last night…….

It’s a disappointing days cards today with little or no value, or indeed grades we target. No point placing bets for bets sake, so we’ll just have one play today and look to pick up again at Wolves on Monday 🙂

Kempton 20.15

Whilst Mistress Nellie looks to have the best profile in the race, we’ll take the short-priced favourite on with one at just better than wipes yer face value.

We backed Milton Bradley’s MURAAQEB for a slot LTO and ran well just getting caught at the death. He still looks well-treated and see no reason he cannot run another big race here being one who has racked up 3 improving RPR’s

As we mentioned previously, the trainer targets more middle-distance races, and his record in these races is worthy of note with 4 wins/7 places from 11 runners over the last couple of seasons.

He retains Luke Morris up top and we’ll take that and there’s plenty of sixes about so we’ll take that with regulation 3 slots and bet 365 this morning.

Kempton 20.15 – Muraaqeb
