Horse Racing Selections – 1st January 2021
First and foremost, a Happy New Year to all our members 🙂 I’m not expecting many of you to be reading or suffering this through blurry eyes. T4 is certainly a sobering experience as we welcome in 2021 with the ‘Hangover Stakes’ for a sole meet at Southwell.
It’s not particularly a well supported meeting terms of ‘runners going to post’. The (14.25) has Scott Dixon’s Samova going from our tracker in a 7 runner with no real EW value. He racked up a treble during 2019 when winning a C4 last December between marks of 68 – 75. He has been thereabouts of late with a best RPR recorded when 2nd to Slowmo here in a C5 in November. Tried in C4 since saw another decent effort in 3rd behind the re-opposing Mulzim LTO. Dropping back to a C5 , where he has a 70% place rate, 1 below off 67 should be right in the mix again. He’s on at 3’s for the lumpers amongst you.
Yesterday was hard to bear with another couple of bridesmaids from our two selections Corazon Espinado & Curfewed. Both were done by a head – as was Slowmo the other day 🙁
Still, cannot complain too much and the ‘sand goggles’ still seem to be working as we leave 2020 87 pts up on the AW to add to the 137 pts on the turf 🙂
We’ve just one for consideration going in the (12.40) and back tomorrow with Saturday’s cards coming from Lingfield and Wolves around 9.00am.
For those on the £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, it’s currently over a 40% win/place rate and our bank is £8871.92 with an ROI of over 50% and current stakes £110.90 EW

Hi Gary,
really enjoying the site. Couple of questions on your £1 to £10k challenge, i’m going to start with a bank of £250 so my target I imagine would be £2.5k, and my original stakes would be a quarter of £12.50?
Also when you mention half stakes bets on some of your selections would that mean if the full stake at the mo as you mentioned is £110 then the stake would be half of that on a half stake bet.

Can I also ask a stupid question?
If the current stake is £110,is that £110 E/W = £220 or is it £55 E/W = £110?

Yes it is EW ( it does say it in the text current stakes £108.13 EW) EW not highlighted in red. However, you should just be betting 1.25% of your chosen or current bank as Highlighted top Salman above
