Horse Racing Selections – 24th February 2020

Monday sees meetings on the all-weather at Southwell and Wolves. They are the only surviving UK horse racing fixtures with the NH meets with the NH going abandoned.

In the opener at Southwell, Avenue Of Stars goes on the first run for Mick Appleby (14.05). He was a summer tracker with Karen McLintock who we backed LTO at Newcastle for some minor place money. For those following our trackers on subsequent runs, he’s hardly a recommendation in a 7 runner, and only for the hardiest lumpers. Deeds Not Words does look better value in that one, with Robyn Brislan’s charge catching the eye when running on late behind the re-opposing Puchita in an apprentice 2 weeks back.

The only other two races on the card (16.10) & (16.45) look favourite bound with little to recommend that has come across our radar, in terms of EW recommendations and we’ll look at Wolves this evening. A couple of shortish priced trackers going there are Becker in the (18.30), currently a 3 paying 8 runner, and Concierge in the (19.00) with just 6 going to post.

We’ll look at the (20.00) for our selection this evening.
