Horse Racing Selections – 26th October 2019

An excellent result for the bank yesterday with Ed Walker trained MOLLS MEMORY giving us a nice 8/1 winner.

That almost became even better but we had to settle for 2nd place about  Keith Dalgleish’s Dark Lochnagar who was smashed in from 16’s to 6’s and just beaten by the Bin Suroor favourite. Finally, those following the free notes intro had Jedd O’Keeffe’s’ Rebel State at Newcastle last night who was available at 6’s and won at 9/2 for young Owen Payton.

It would be nice to get anywhere near that on a Saturday’s that always pose difficult questions with the numbers of ‘triers’ going for their owners.

At Newbury, there’s nothing really of note with the only handicaps being a couple of divisions of a 12f Lady Ams as the last two races on the card. One we have backed in the distant past that longer-term members will know is (17.05)Eddiemaurice who you can get around 9’s for. He’s obviously looking to his hurdling season with not a whole load of flat racing of late. However, he’s generally won on 1st or 2nd time out over the timber and rated 125+ over the timber, could do some damage off 7lb below his last flat win if arriving somewhere near from work at home?

As we write, Donny has gone abandoned where we were looking at the chances of Give It Some Teddy who won for us LTO and also gave us our first winner of the season. Also, we were considering Saaheq who we’d backed a couple of times for a place since the summer and were really disappointed that we weren’t on him when he rocked up at Southwell LTO. However, it does point to improving form and up 4lb looks reasonable given how easy that was as he quickened up really nicely to win going away. We’ll note when he’s next back out on the AW.

We’ll look to one at Chelmsford this evening as our sole selection of the day.

There’s no flat tomorrow, so hopefully, with a drying forecast, we’ll be back on Monday with Leicester though Redcar has already gone 🙁

Today’s Horse Racing Selections

….a good day at the office yesterday 🙁

Chelmsford 19.00

James Tate’s 3yo Promote is a relatively short-priced favourite and looks worthy of taking on here as one who likes to come late?

Roger Teal has just had a great flat season from a small yard with 15 winners that produced a+48pts level-stake profit backing all his runners – assisted by star purchase Oxted 🙂

Tonight he has Jack Mitchell up top of SPIRIT OF MAY who looks well drawn to be able to run just off the pace off Vee Man Ten.

He is a Coach House colt purchased at the Ascot Breeze ups who ran 2nd on debut at Bath as a 2yo, and won his first on seasonal debut over C&D back in April off a mark of 64 recording an RPR of 71.

He arrives here now rated 78 on the back of a decent summer where he recorded a win at Chester, however, his RPR has also gone up accordingly and is still unexposed and still progressive.

Jack Mitchell is up top who had ridden well here to date on front running sorts with over a 60% place rate.

There’s a best 16/1 with Betfair and FOUR paying slots this morning.
