Tuesday’s all-weather action comes from Gosforth Park, Newcastle.

Just a couple of handicaps paying the 3 slots. (18.00) Looks a really competitive C4 where you could make out a case for most. Ulshaw Bridge goes in that one and again looks to have solid place claims. Ed Bethel’s charges do go well here. He had a decent run with Artistic Rifles last week who would be my outside ante-post selection for the Lincoln if you can get a no run/no bet price (100-200’s available). Another tracker going is Mark Loughnane’s Imperial Command who we noted as a progressive 3yo pre-Xmas. An easy winner LTO is nothing of a price here.

A turf tracker also out in this one, and good to see Give It Some Teddy back with Tim Easterby. Hopefully we will pick up a nice one with him on the turf this season after a barren 3 runs in a brief spell with Stuart Williams. Is an AW virgin who hasn’t won off higher than this mark that reflects his price in the market. Nonetheless has more that paid him way for me and I will throw a small bit of shrapnel at 40’s and the chance of an EW slot 🙂

The other race of note is the (19.00) and where we will take today’s selection from.

Nice to get off the mark early for the month with Chris Dwyer’s GLOBAL PROTECTOR at Wolves last night. There wasn’t any doubt when Darragh Keenan kicked on at the furlong marker getting him home by just under 2l.

Hopefully most of you got at least 7’s that seemed to be around for while straight after publishing. That was before it was tipped up by Hugh Taylor and the price evaporated 🙁

It does seem to me that there is some mileage considering the ‘better’ claimers as they ply their trade on the AW before losing their allowance. We have had winners from the likes of; Ray Dawson, Laura Pearson, Rhys Clutterbuck, Harry Russell for example. It always looks good to catch them at this stage before it gets a tad tougher for them in a year or so.
