Horse Racing Selections – 4th October 2019

A poor day’s racing with only seven going to post in a Genlemans Amateurs at Ascot today.

We’ll abstain today and get stuck into looking at Redcar tomorrow where Tim Easterby’s Give It Some Teddy will be defending his ‘crown’ in the Racing TV Straight-Mile Series Final Handicap (16.10). Looking forward to that one…..with further trackers in that including Rebecca Bastiman’s Hayadh, David Barron’s Kripke and Brian Ellison’s Algaffaal.

Following that one, there’s a C3 at Ascot (16.50) where one we have backed for a place of late, Michael Appleby’s Saaheq goes in this 18 runner 5f sprint – he’ll face up to another tracker in Camacho Chief. Most of the wins in those tend to come down the stands side, and a mid/high draw is favoured which seems to favour the top weighted latter.

Finally there’s a C4 sprint at Redcar (17.20) where Sheepscar Lad who gave us decent returns last term goes. He hasn’t added to that nice April win we had last year and dropped over 12lb in the ratings, still not managing to stick his neck in front 🙁 Also going in that one is another tracker in the ‘Midgemeisters’ Manshood who ran a cracker when 2nd to El Astronaut at the Curragh who should find this C4 more to his level.
