Horse Racing Selections – 6th January 2022

Thursday’s all-weather cards start with a lunchtime meet at Gosforth with an evening meet at Chelmsford.

There’s one from each meeting as we bid to get onto an even keel. Thanks for your patience in this ‘famine’ as Peter put’s it. Two 30+ runs in 6 months has really put a dampener on things since May as we sit around break even for the year. These things are sent to try us, as they say, and just to assure you nothing has changed at HQ. Same old solitary me….haven’t sold up or involving any 3rd parties 🙂

  1. I noticed a couple of recent selections have gone in this week at double figure prices (Atrafan and Annie Rose), sort of reassuring in a way but just not happening at the moment

  2. You’re correct Steve. There’s been some debate on backing on next 3 runs. Hopefully Vincenzo or Red Allure aren’t going to do me in the 19.30 😀

  3. Peter got the poison pen out and told us the famine continues. Thanks for that pearl Peter. I have said before Peter, thrives when ABW is on a losing run and he loves to tell us he has backed the winners we have left alone ( past selections running but not tipped when won). He really is the top man Peter and i believe he wins most days if not every day while basking in the Spanish sun. Why he takes an interest in ABW when he openly says he doesn’t back our selections is puzzling. There is no better betting brain than Peter though.
Ian, puts some good points over about ROI on 5-7f compared to ROI on 1m+ races. I have said this before, the Elks (Now using British name) running on the All Weather are the lowest of the breed in the main. I half my stakes on All weather and at the beginning/end of the grass flat season. It’s still about having faith in the selection process and i believe Gary has earned that. Operating at the odds we do will mean long losing runs. If you cannot take them then you need to move on. As Ian said keep the faith and judge the service after six months at least, preferably a year. Here is a tip for a few weeks. The mighty millers are not playing well. Value will be around in the next few weeks as we will be too short to win games.Back win/draw any team playing us as that will be value.

    • Hi Ian. or should we call you Einstein, well as for the poison pen letter what part of it is saying something that is untrue im sure that you can correct me on this , i certainly do not thrive on the losing run that Gary is going through. As for picking and backing my selections why would i lie as i would be only fooling myself so no Einstein im no muppet, you asked why i take an interest in ABW well i follow one or two others also again never backing there selections unless i have also selected them.
As you know i like my systems and i have one very, very easy system that produces winners in fact there is one running tonight at Wolverhampton just pm me and i will give you the simple rules for this system and there is no catch its totally FOC insure a chuckles would like that. but a word of warning we were down 22 units yesterday. And finally Ian or anyone else keep daily records of their betting.

      • Good to hear from you Peter. I am certainly no Einstein, in fact i would have difficulty in getting three figures on an IQ test. Famine means extreme scarcity of something . The service has had some placed selections recently and some returns on investment so to call it a famine is harsh in my humble opinion….. I am not sure i have mentioned picking and backing your selections. i just said you appear to win most days if not every day. That is how it came across to me, sorry if i got that wrong. I do not touch systems Peter. Why ? Because horse racing is an ever changing picture and systems cannot adjust. A method might be a different creature. What does Insure a chuckles would like that, mean ? Are you referring to the last Chuckle brother being from Rotherham ? I am off now as i am half way through the encyclopedia Britannica in an attempt to get a new nickname. Btw i have been keeping records of my betting and when i was taking bets for over fifty years but thanks for the sound advice.

  4. Best to all jocks today. You will earn your corn in this weather. Just been outside to take some Christmas decs down and abandoned the cause after 5 mins – its fleeing out there!

  5. Now that was a brutal loss, can anyone point me to any free sources of news articles about horses and medical things. I’ve heard phrases like wind op, and the obvious thing of googling a stable I’ve not really found very useful- I am assuming something medical happened in that race there, but is there a place I can find out what or why?

  6. To be positive.. Non of the trackers had a good day today 😅
