On the eve of the curtain down on the turf season and Doncaster’s November Handicap, there’s horse racing on the All-Weather from Newcastle and Chelmsford.

Nothing for the latter and we’ll be looking at Gosforth Park this evening. Indeed the curtain may have already fallen on the turf with Donny’s feature November Handicap meeting very much in doubt with yesterday’s weather. If that’s the case then we’ll be adding a season’s profit of just over £900 to our records which was a decent recovery after a turgid July!!

Looking at Newcastle, one likely to be popular with the lumpers is Willie Haggas’s Swansdown in the (19.05) – the 3yo brings some decent form into this, winning with a bit in hand LTO here over a mile. However, 7f can undo many and having to shrug off a penalty over this shorter trip, not one for us and Andrew Mullen on Rock Road Boy gives more appeal of around 8’s?
