Mid week cards from Haydock, Yarmouth and Hamilton.
The former’s numbers to post make it instantly forgettable with a sole tacker in Tim Easterby’s Highwaygrey going in the (15.10). That ones improved 25lb since lockdown 1 and doesn’t look finished based on a decent 4th placed finish in the C2 Zetland last week. Five of his 6 wins have come under David Allan in 8 runner or less races coming from off the pace. Eased a grade is on a lumping priced 7/2 in just a 6 runner.
At Yarmouth, one we backed LTO for a place, Ruth Carr’s Foreseeable Future goes at short priced 9/4 in the (16.40). A course winner here with James Tate as a 2yo should go close for the lumpers with Jamie Spencer again up top. The only other tracker offering any EW value is Lincoln Red going in the (13.50). We had a winner about that one on the AW in December. Jack Mitchell is back up top who had two wins about him here in 2019 that pushed him to late 50’s rated and he’s been more back at that previous level.
Up at Hamilton, the only one tracker we have backed previously is Thrilla In Manilla going in the (20.45). That was when with Richard Spencer last year at Yarmouth. Now with Paul Midgley is likely to be unchallenged for the lead and look to make all, though another on at lumping prices in a weak looking field.
Not particularly one for maidens, but Eric Alston sends Niagara up for the ams race (17.45). Looks decent double digit value against the likes of re-opposing Stronsay in an open looking race.

We can’t get luck at the moment. Frustrating
Well that wasn’t frustrating at all
A decent break would have seen Lincoln Red an easy winner, as Rockesbury was gifted a 4+ lengths cushion. As regards the finish, it looked like Mitchell only used his whip 6 of the permitted 7 times, whereas the winning jockey used their whip at least 7 times. Now I could be wrong as regards whip use, as I watched the race online and the picture quality was more than a tad grainy.
What a run of bad luck – must change very soon 🙂

Frustrating result but good selection. Losing by a nostril hurts, but a number of times selections have won on the nod too. It’ll come good given time.
