HURSTWOOD went in for us yesterday under Paul Mulrennan.

Disappointed that Grant Tuer’s favourite Dreamcasing went a non-runner 🙁 Ours was subsequently well backed into 3/1f and blighted by that 45% Rule 4 deduction.

Hopefully most of you go something equating to 7’s.

 

For those on the new 2022/23 £1k to £10k Annual Challenge, the bank is at £2261.84 with current full stakes at £28.27 EW with over a 48% win/place rate. 

The 2022 Turf bank stands at +78.1 pts to 1pt EW stakes with over a 48% win/place rate.

Redcar 16.55

Will have a look at this real low grade 0-55 and pass over previous winner Muatadel.

Much travelled since Easterby days, HURSTWOOD was an AW tracker last year with some noted performances soon after coming into Peter Niven.

Highly rated early days, raced in Listed company as a 2yo and won here off 82 in 2019 that saw his mark raised to 90 for handicapping.

Last season had some decent summer/autumn runs where he was a winner at Ripon then ran then ran up 4th in a C4 behind Citron Major at York under JPS.

Followed that up with some place money when we backed him at Ponty behind Motawaazy and a competitive 4th behind Polam Lane over this C&D.

His mark has dropped through the winter but last term took 3 races to get going. Hacked up on his first go on the quicker stuff where his form over distance and going reads 5-2-2.

You could make excuses for his two runs so far. At Ripon ran off the wrong side and again in his race at Thirsk LTO, high draw proved best and, has seen plenty of decent form in subsequent showings.

Low draw seems best on the billiard table here and expect a better showing today. The yard are in excellent form and Paul Mulrennan does the honours.

It’s a best 18’s with Betfair & Victor and the the enhanced 4th paying slot.
