Daily Newsletter – 10th March 2018

We’ve had some decent successes on the weekends since the turn of the year that usually flies in the face of what we normally promote…..that its more difficult to assess on the account of higher class and numbers laid out for their owners for a weekend winner.

However, we’ll take those recent successes and look to keep the run going….

Most of you have grasped the membership situation and have renewed on existing rates – any further questions please don’t hesitate to come back to us. We have picked a slight gremlin up in that those of you taking the £75 option – as currently linked is not a recurring payment and has been set up as a product rather than a subscription service. It’s no problem, just means we will have to contact you when it’s due for renewal rather than being automated. However it will be done at the £75 rate.

Please drop us a line at feedback@always-back-winners.com with any questions if still unclear.

Back to today…..

Up at Ayr we backed Imjoeking LTO for a place at Warwick and today goes in a race (15.20) he won last year and at just 3lb higher this time round. Lucinda Russell’s charge should go very close but is one for you lumpers at around 2’s.

We’ll stick with Sandown as we can’t see anything of a price any where else with Members selections accessible below……

1.20 Matchbook Betting Exchange Juvenile Handicap Hurdle (3) 1m7f216y

Timeform Top Rated:
131 6. BORN LEGEND Oliver Sherwood Harrison Beswick (7)
130 2. ERAGON DE CHANAY Gary Moore Jamie Moore
129 4. QUOTHQUAN Michael Madgwick Harry Reed (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Eragon de Chanay was flying too high in Grade 2 company last time, but his mark appears a workable one judged on his French form, and he receives the vote. Quothquan and Shambra head the opposition in a tricky opener.

1.50 European Breeders’ Fund Matchbook VIP ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Final (Grade 3) (1) 2m3f173y

Timeform Top Rated:
152 13. OXWICH BAY Evan Williams Adam Wedge
150p 8. THE DUBAI WAY Harry Whittington Harry Bannister
149+ 7. AL SHAHIR Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

Analyst’s Verdict:
A whole host worthy of consideration here, with the narrow vote in favour of First Assignment. Ian Williams’ charge found the requisite improvement to make a winning handicap debut at Huntingdon in January, the professional attitude he displayed likely to count for plenty in a race of this nature. The Dubai Way, Al Shahir, Indian Hawk and Oxwich Bay are a handful of others worth a close look.

2.25 Matchbook Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) (1) 1m7f216y

Timeform Top Rated:
162 9. MASTER OF IRONY John Quinn Richard Johnson
161 11. MR ANTOLINI Nigel Twiston-Davies Jamie Bargary (3)
160+ 14. BIRCH HILL Sophie Leech James Best

Analyst’s Verdict:
The Pipes have had a remarkable record in this over the years and it might be worth siding with Friday Night Light, who has a first-time visor replacing cheekpieces and can turn around last month’s Ascot form with Le Patriote. Silver Streak and the Nicky Henderson pair Whatswrongwithyou and Call Me Lord are a few of many others who could go well in a typically competitive renewal.

3.00 EBF Stallions/TBA Mares’ Standard Open National Hunt Flat (Listed) (1) 1m7f216y

Timeform Top Rated:
127 9. AIMEE DE SIVOLA Nick Williams Richard Johnson
125+ 6. QUEENOHEARTS Stuart Edmunds Ciaran Gethings
124+ 8. URCA DE LIMA Anthony Honeyball Noel Fehily

Analyst’s Verdict:
Aimee de Sivola pulled well clear of the rest when runner-up at this level at Market Rasen in January and Nick Williams’ 4-y-o can make the most of the weight she receives from her older rivals. The Anthony Honeyball trained Urca de Lima could give her most to do.

3.35 Matchbook Racing Is Commission Free Handicap Chase (3) 3m37y

Timeform Top Rated:
150 5. FOURTH ACT Colin Tizzard Harry Cobden
147 7. HORATIO HORNBLOWER Nick Williams Sam Twiston-Davies
147? 6. LOCAL SHOW Sarah Humphrey Daryl Jacob

Analyst’s Verdict:
Fourth Act has had possible excuses since taking advantage of his lower hurdles mark at Fontwell and he remains with handicapping scope over fences, so could be worth chancing. There was much to like about Tanit River’s winning effort here 3 weeks ago and he is next best ahead of last year’s winner Shanroe Santos.

4.10 Matchbook Betting Podcast Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (3) 2½m10y

Timeform Top Rated:
150p 4. THE LAST BUT ONE Paul Nicholls Sam Twiston-Davies
149 1. RAYVIN BLACK Oliver Sherwood Thomas Garner (3)
145 3. SILVERHOW Colin Tizzard Harry Cobden

Analyst’s Verdict:
The Last But One has really taken well to chasing, and with further improvement on the cards, he can complete the hat-trick. Rayvin Black and Silverhow are both respected.

4.45 Commission Free Racing At Matchbook Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (3) 2½m10y

Timeform Top Rated:
140+ 8. STOICAL PATIENT Gary Moore Jamie Moore
139 5. MASTERPLAN Charlie Longsdon Jonathan Burke
138? 6. MORNING REGGIE Oliver Sherwood Leighton Aspell

Analyst’s Verdict:
Stoical Patient is thriving at the moment, winning all 4 completed starts for this stable, and though this is a step up in class, most of her rivals arrive on the back of a poor run. Morning Reggie has won this for the last 2 seasons so has to be respected, while Aloomomo is potentially on a good mark if responding to headgear.
