Monday – 20th August 2018

Yesterday’s selection went a non-runner so it’s straight into the Monday of York’s Ebor week with meets at Leicester, Thirsk & Windsor with Timeform below for the initial of those meets.

At Thirsk, Kupa River who we had massive hopes for at the bringing of the season goes in the (15.20) – he’s become extremely well handicapped (in our opinion!) and today they take the route of dropping him to the minimum 5f trip, though not a whole load of value at 11/2 based on previous runnings…….we’ve just one for members in the notes below.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 150% to over £2.5k with an ROI of over 25%….current stakes are now £31.55 EW.

2.20 British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Nursery Handicap (4) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
93 4. SABAI SABAI Ralph Beckett Harry Bentley
92 8. BARBARA HEPWORTH Gary Moore David Probert
90 7. HAPPY ODYSSEY Amy Murphy Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Sabai Sabai was ahead of no fewer than 4 next-time-out winners when fourth in a big-field maiden at Goodwood 19 days ago and there has to be a chance the assessor has let her in lightly on this nursery debut. Happy Odyssey and Kwela are feared most.

2.50 Nelson Fillies’ Handicap (5) 1m3f179y

Timeform Top Rated:
84p 7. DEPENDABLE Charles Hills Callum Shepherd
83 2. THE LAST DEBUTANTE Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
82 6. MOONLIGHT SILVER William Muir Finley Marsh (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Dependable caught the eye on her third qualifying run at Windsor a fortnight ago, and representing a yard in terrific form, she is expected to take a leap forward. Point In Time and Floria Tosca are closely matched on their Newmarket clash, but The Last Debutante is feared most.

3.20 Coalville Yellow Cab And Underwood Equine Handicap (4) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
100 7. FIRMDECISIONS Nigel Tinkler Lewis Edmunds
99 2. EASY TIGER Malcolm Saunders David Egan
98§ 3. AREEN HEART David O’Meara Martin Harley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Firmdecisions paid the price for a big move into contention when behind Presidential at Redcar last week, but he did enough to think he’s in good nick and he’s certainly weighted to beat that rival this time. A bigger threat may emerge in the shape of Del Parco.

3.50 Glebe Novice Auction Stakes (5) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
90p 1. OVER THE GUNS Paul Cole David Probert
88 8. STELLAR COMET Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
84p 5. SILKSTONE Pam Sly William Cox (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Over The Guns is a good looker and overcame considerable greenness when making a winning debut at this track (6f) in June and he’s potentially a useful sort. Stellar Comet should have more to offer, while Coutts de Ville makes some appeal on paper.

4.20 Gallowgate Nursery Handicap (5) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
81 10. DARWINA K. R. Burke Clifford Lee (3)
80p 11. SOPHOSC Joseph Tuite David Probert
79p 9. MR DIAMOND Richard Fahey Tony Hamilton

Analyst’s Verdict:
Darwina showed her first worthwhile form when fourth in a minor event at Ripon a fortnight ago and the assessor could have taken a dimmer view of that display, so she’s worth supporting upped further in trip. Mr Diamond, Disruptor and Sophosc are a trio of potential improvers.

4.50 Charles Street Handicap (5) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
86 3. RUX RUXX Andrew Balding David Probert
85 5. ROYS DREAM Paul Collins Patrick Vaughan (7)
84 1. NINJAGO Paul Midgley Dougie Costello

Analyst’s Verdict:
Rux Ruxx took another step forward despite failing to justify favouritism at Lingfield 16 days ago and she makes plenty of appeal as an improving 3-y-o. Geoff Potts should be more comfortable early back over 6f, while Ninjago takes a further dip in class.
