Monday – 4th June 2018

The start of a new week….and hopefully a better one we ended May and begun June 🙁

There’s Ayr, Leicester and Windsor on this afternoon/evening with a couple of previously backed members selections out again. Tom Dascombe takes Reflektor down to Windsor on the back of that Chester run (19.15) – we’d say it’s possible he’s find this on the fast side and that his other runner going in the 17.45, his 3y0 Formidable Kitt is a sounder proposition – a winner at HQ of his maiden and has been tried in C1/Listed. This is a significant drop in class now handicapping and on at lumping prices 2/1.

Talking 3yo’s, Armed was one that caught the eye running on well at Windsor LTO – goes in the Leicester 17.45…….again at lumping prices.

Trainer to follow – we mentioned Karen McLintock a couple of weeks back and she’s just notched with her last three runners and showing good profit for level stakes bets this term – her sole runner is Big Les in the Ayr 20.00

We’ve two member selections today in the notes below – the speedmeisters ratings are below for Windsor.

5.45 Thames Materials Support The Aisling Project Handicap (4) 5f21y

Timeform Top Rated
100 11. KODIAC EXPRESS Mike Murphy Gabriele Malune (5)
99? 1. NINE BELOW ZERO Ralph Beckett Louis Steward
98 2. FORMIDABLE KITT Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote

Analyst’s Verdict:
Formidable Kitt can build on her fine return at Chester and get back to winning ways. Kodiac Express went close from the front here last month and has to be feared from the same mark. Rock of Estonia could have more to offer.

6.15 Thorn Plant Hire EBF Stallions Novice Stakes (4) 5f21y

Timeform Top Rated
102p 1. QUEEN OF BERMUDA William Haggas Richard Kingscote
95 4. FLY THE NEST Charlie Appleby James Doyle
92p 3. DUKE OF HAZZARD Paul Cole Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
The filly Queen of Bermuda showed a useful level of form when landing the odds at Thirsk, and she sets a good standard for the others to aim at. There are a number of promising sorts in opposition however, including once-raced Leading Spirit and newcomer Ragstone Cowboy.

6.45 Carey Group “Confined” Novice Stakes (5) 6f12y

Timeform Top Rated
92p 1. BUFFER ZONE Roger Charlton Kieran Shoemark
79 2. BURIDAN Richard Hannon Sean Levey
77 11. PERSIAN PRIZE Michael Appleby Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
Not a deep-looking race and Buffer Zone could be hard to beat if ready to roll on his return having won with a bit in hand when last seen. Newcomers Ambroise and Swiss Chill need keeping an eye on, while C&D winner Buridan may have more to offer as a 3-y-o.

7.15 Sky Bet Top Price Promise Handicap (Qualifier) (3) 6f12y

Timeform Top Rated
114 2. MIRACLE OF MEDINAH Mark Usher Jason Watson (5)
113+ 10. MULLIONHEIR John Best Joey Haynes
113 1. SILENT ECHO Peter Hedger Tom Marquand

Analyst’s Verdict:
Miracle of Medinah and Silent Echo are closely matched on their placed efforts in a hot Ascot handicap last month and Mark Usher’s charge could be set for a rare success if building on that. Silent Echo won on his next start here just 3 days later and should go well again up 5 lb. Louie de Palma was backed ahead of his belated return in the Victoria Cup and could show a fair bit more now.

7.45 Gallagher Group Handicap (4) 1m3f99y

Timeform Top Rated
98p 2. WHAT A WELCOME Patrick Chamings Joey Haynes
97 3. CHANCE TO DREAM John Best Jamie Spencer
96 5. ZAMPERINI Mike Murphy Kieran Shoemark

Analyst’s Verdict:
What A Welcome continues to go from strength to strength and another win looks on the cards. Chance To Dream did well to overcome a pace bias when scoring here in April and can give a good account again stepped up in trip.

8.15 Cappagh Remembers Forgotten Irish “Confined” Novice Stakes (5) 1¼m

Timeform Top Rated
94p 5. CASSINI John Gosden Kieran O’Neill
93 13. TEMUR KHAN Hugo Palmer Josephine Gordon
82 3. WALTER SICKERT George Baker Trevor Whelan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Cassini shaped well both 2-y-o starts, and, with further improvement likely, should be up to winning a race of this nature. Newcomers Galileo Silver and Cuban Fire both make plenty of appeal on paper, and market support for either should be noted.

8.45 O’Halloran And O’Brien Handicap (5) 1m31y

Timeform Top Rated
86p 14. CARLINI Brian Meehan Oisin Murphy
85 6. REVERBERATION Sylvester Kirk Gary Mahon (5)
84 12. BOMBSHELL BAY Richard Hannon Seamus Cronin (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Carlini ran a cracking race when well backed and third over C&D 3 weeks ago, not getting much luck, and makes plenty of appeal off the same mark. Mankind and Jackpot Royale are respected also.

Check these guys out if you haven't already heard of them!

We think you should check out the service from the guys from Cleeve – they target higher end c2+ than ourselves and have got off to a good start this season. Have a look around their site linked below with a past results visible. Our selections shouldn’t clash due to the nature of races we tend to get involved with and should be a nice complimentary and personal service from Nick & the guys to run alongside our own this summer.
