Ascot holds the Shergar Cup meet and looking there the only ones on our radar are Mark Johnston’s Bayshore Freeway who is upped in class in this one (15.25) and holds EW claims. In the (16.00) John Quinn’s Shaheen goes under Fran Berry and also Nigel Tinkler’s Roundhay Park – NT is smashing it up with his 3yo’s at the moment but neither offer any real EW value.

At Haydock, previously backed Frank Bridge was going in the (15.40) he’s another we’ve been waiting for some cut and despite the last days heavy rain, the course is still running G/F – G and with many others he’s been pulled this morning with a drying forecast today.

We’re sticking to the North with one at Redcar this afternoon and one from the evening meeting at Ayr……Timeform is for the HQ card today.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 150% to nearly £3k with an ROI of over 33%….current stakes are now £31.57 EW.

2.00 Sea The Moon Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (4) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
No ratings for this race

Analyst’s Verdict:
A field of newcomers, and the market should offer plenty of extra clues, but Hello Bangkokgets the nod as things stand. A sister to smart 7f winner Fadhayyil, she cost 200,000 gns when re-sold earlier this year, and ticks plenty of boxes. Shambolic has plenty to recommend her too, while Hawthorn Rose will also be popular for the Sir Michael Stoute/Andrea Atzeni combination.

2.35 Poppy Nursery Handicap (3) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
97 2. POGO Charles Hills Jason Watson (3)
95 4. GREENBACK BOOGIE Brian Meehan Frankie Dettori
94p 3. EYELOOL William Haggas Andrea Atzeni

Analyst’s Verdict:
Greenback Boogie’s third in a big-field event at Glorious Goodwood surely represents solid form and he gets the nod under Dettori. Eyelool is progressing steadily and rates a big threat for the William Haggas team, while Pogo is nicely handicapped if recapturing the level of his first 2 outings.

3.10 BBAG-SALES.DE Handicap (2) 1¼m

Timeform Top Rated
109 7. DANCETERIA David Menuisier Jason Watson (3)
108 8. DEREK DUVAL Stuart Williams P. J. McDonald
107 1. RED LABEL Marco Botti Gabriele Malune (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Danceteria, Kaanoon and Caliburn all fit the profile of upwardlymobile 3-y-os getting plenty of weight from the bulk of their rivals, so the chances are that they’ll come to the fore here. They’re hard to split, but the first named has shown he’s at home on this track and has the benefit of a confident claimer taking a further 3 lb off, so he gets the narrow vote.

3.45 German-Thoroughbred.com Sweet Solera Stakes (Group 3) (1) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
117 5. LA PELOSA Charlie Appleby Brett Doyle
115 1. MAIN EDITION Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
106p 2. AJRAR Richard Hannon Tom Marquand

Analyst’s Verdict:
Pennywhistle won a C&D novice with the minimum of fuss last month and is selected to take the step up in class in her stride. There’s little to separate Main Edition and La Pelosa on Albany form, although the latter wasn’t at her best when behind the reopposing Ajrar in a Sandown listed event over this trip last time.

4.20 BBAG Germany’s Yearling Sales Handicap (2) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
111 2. RIPP ORF David Elsworth Jason Watson (3)
110 4. LAKE VOLTA Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
110 7. GALLIPOLI Richard Fahey Paddy Mathers

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ripp Orf has been one of the handicappers of the season and isn’t done with yet judged on his latest run at Ascot. Lake Volta is respected, especially if allowed an easy lead, while Spanish City is another with strong C&D form.

4.55 Royal British Legion Handicap (2) 1m

Timeform Top Rated
114 3. PETRUS Brian Meehan Frankie Dettori
113 8. PROTECTED GUEST George Margarson Jane Elliott (3)
110+ 5. MORNING HAS BROKEN David Elsworth William Cox (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Petrus was a close third in a better race than this at Ascot last time so a bold bid is expected. Protected Guest shaped well behind the selection that day and is another to consider, along with the unexposed Three Weeks.

5.30 Close Brothers Handicap (3) 2m

Timeform Top Rated
98 1. PERCY’S WORD Simon Crisford Jason Watson (3)
98 6. CHOCOLATE BOX Daniel Loughnane Andrea Atzeni
97 5. MASTER ARCHER James Fanshawe Frankie Dettori

Analyst’s Verdict:
Master Archer continues in fine form and could add a second win to his record with Frankie Dettori up for the first time. Stanley and Its’afreebee both have appealing claims also.
