Saturday Newsletter – 15th June 2019

Some big fields again on the Knavesmire at York seeing a host of our trackers going head to head in the (16.40) & (17.15) C4 handicaps.

At Sandown, we have a sole tracker out in Hateya (15.15) – she followed home our winner at Nottingham, Daddies Girl but although has a solid place chance around 9’s, has gone up nearly 30lb in the handicap and is struggling to get her nose in front, though maybe for any of those small stakes EW acca’s?

We’ve nothing at Chester with the ground going heavy, a Roger Fell runner we had considered has been pulled this morning.

On the back of a good week and with cards at Hamilton, Beverley, Ripon on next week whilst eyes will be focussed at Royal Ascot, we’re going to take a cautious approach today.

Today’s Selections

York 16.40

Tim Easterby has three out here with Vive Le Difference also in our tracker and down to a previous winning mark, whilst Give It Some Teddy – our first winner of the season and one who gave us decent returns last term, also lines up.

However, we’re on one we took note of last time when running from outside of the handicap LTO in POET’S DAWN.

He was drawn wide that day and took a clout from the one drawn alongside when exiting the stalls, though finished well in a grade above this one.

Drawn handily in 4 for one who likes to race prominently, he has edged down the weights to just 3 above his highest 83 mark.

As a consequence of a 3yo win on this surface at Beverley last term, that fired him up to mid 80’s and has struggled since.

Now a maturing 4yo, he should be competitive again of this mark and the choice of stable jock David Allan.

There’s a best 9/1 with Betfair and FOUR PAYING SLOTS this morning.

York 16.40 – Poet’s Dawn

(Current stakes are £17.44 EW for those backing the 1.25% EW on the £1k to £10k)
