Saturday Newsletter – 18th May 2019
The season looks to be really cranking up now following York’s Dante festival. Today there’s a cracking 3yo race at Newbury that’s one to note as it tends to throw some future winners up when they lower their sights, and that’s the Al Zuburah Cup (15.00).
A few trackers out to note……at HQ, Julie Camacho takes Boundary Lane down for a tilt at the (17.35). The filly came in from Michael Dods and won first time of asking at Ayr. She’s on around wipes yer face 11/2 for a follow up, albeit Graham Lee stays north at Thirsk to ride the stables sole entry, Dalton in the (15.55) and Tom Eaves takes over the ride.
Incidentally Eaves has another excellent EW opportunity on Kevin Ryan’s 3yo, Yousini in the race prior (15.00) and on around 8’s.
At Thirsk, another couple we noted go H2H in the (15.20) – Make Me was one from last year who has Jason Hart up top and on at wipes yer face 9/2 though may just need on seasonal debut, whilst we also noted Roger Fell’s Tadaawol LTO who still looks around 3 above his mark and maybe vulnerable to one of these 4yo’s. He looks ripe for in an apprentices type race in the near future?
Tonight at Donny, we have old Kenny The Captain out at Donny (20.05) – afraid we’re going to have to take one below the belt this time if he pulls it off. He certainly prefers some cut and delving deeper his wins tend to be back end so we’ll keep a tab on his mark.
