Hennessy Day at Newbury with some decent class racing, there’s Timeform below for that one with second season novices, Thomas Patrick & Elegant Escape heading up the market for the now Ladbrokes Chase – nothing of note for us and we’ll look to Bangor & Donny for our targets today.

Yesterday’s intro saw another short priced lumper winning in a race that cut up badly with Buster Thomas trotting home at 4/7.

We’ve a sole bet at Donny for members and we’ll be back  with an update in the morning before 10.00am

For those on the new £1k to £10k, current stakes are now £10.37 EW and the bank stands at £829.71

12.10 Ladbrokes Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (Listed) (1) 2m69y

Timeform Top Rated:
151P 1. LUST FOR GLORY Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville
150p 5. POSH TRISH Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
144 4. PASSING CALL Alan King Wayne Hutchinson

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lust For Glory created a big impression over C&D last month, and she’s taken to confirm the form with Posh Trish despite the swing at the weights. Diamond Gait is open to improvement on the back of her Ludlow success and shouldn’t be ignored.

12.45 Ladbrokes John Francome Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (1) 2m7f86y

Timeform Top Rated:
163 2. LE BREUIL Ben Pauling Daryl Jacob
155p 1. KILBRICKEN STORM Colin Tizzard Harry Cobden
154 4. ROCKY’S TREASURE Kim Bailey David Bass

Analyst’s Verdict:
Last season’s Albert Bartlett winner Kilbricken Storm made the perfect start over fences when scoring on return at Ffos Las last month, doing well to get back up having produced a slow leap at the last. He ought to have derived plenty from that and gets the nod. Another top staying novice last term was Santini and he is a big player now chasing. Rocky’s Treasure can provide value of the remainder.

1.20 Sir Peter O’Sullevan Memorial Handicap Chase (2) 2¾m93y

Timeform Top Rated:
158 3. ON TOUR Evan Williams Adam Wedge
157 2. ROCKLANDER Tom George Mr Noel George (7)
156x 7. MINELLA ON LINE Oliver Sherwood Conor Shoemark

Analyst’s Verdict:
On Tour has already shown himself well capable from this sort of mark and seemed to have returned in top form when fifth at Chepstow in October so he’s well worth a chance to get back to winning ways in a race that should play to his strengths. The less-exposed Adrien du Pont could provide the main danger ahead of Rocklander.

1.50 Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle (2) 2½m118y

Timeform Top Rated:
155p 12. SPEEDO BOY Ian Williams Tom O’Brien
154p 4. CHAMP Nicky Henderson Aidan Coleman
153 10. SLEEP EASY Neil Mulholland Philip Donovan (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Speedo Boy cashed in on a handy mark compared to his Flat ability up in trip at Cheltenham a fortnight ago and given he was value for extra that day, a 6 lb rise still underestimates him. Champ is open to plenty of improvement and is a definite threat, with Vaziani a possible contender at likely long odds.

2.25 Ladbrokes Intermediate Hurdle (Limited Handicap) (Gerry Feilden) (Listed) (1) 2m69y

Timeform Top Rated:
158p 1. GLOBAL CITIZEN Ben Pauling David Bass
157p 4. BALLYMOY Nigel Twiston-Davies Daryl Jacob
156+ 5. WHATSWRONGWITHYOU Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville

Analyst’s Verdict:
An excellent race with Global Citizen the selection. He showed smart form as a novice hurdler last season and marked himself down as well treated when runner-up at Ascot on his reappearance. There are dangers however, with Ballymoy and Whatswrongwithyou respected.

3.00 Ladbrokes Trophy Chase (Handicap) (Grade 3) (1) 3m1f214y

Timeform Top Rated:
173p 6. THOMAS PATRICK Tom Lacey Richard Johnson
170p 1. KEMBOY W. P. Mullins Non Runner
170+ 14. THE YOUNG MASTER Neil Mulholland Mr Sam Waley-Cohen (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Thomas Patrick is 5 lb better off with Elegant Escape for a ½-length beating at Sandown last month so is weighted to turn the tables on Colin Tizzard’s charge and there’s a good chance this bold-jumping front runner has even more to offer. The main threat may come from Dingo Dollar, who teed himself up nicely for this with a good fourth over hurdles here on his reappearance.

3.35 Ladbrokes In Memory of Tara Von Ihering Handicap Chase (2) 2m92y

Timeform Top Rated:
162+ 4. LADY BUTTONS Philip Kirby Adam Nicol
161 3. BIGMARTRE Harry Whittington Harry Bannister
160 1. FOREST BIHAN Brian Ellison Daryl Jacob

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lady Buttons still looks on a fair mark despite her excellent strike rate and she remains unexposed in this sphere. Bigmartre was a Grade 2 winner as a novice and should come on for his return, while Doitforthevillage was in the process of running well at Cheltenham on return and is back down to his last winning mark.
