1.25 QTS British Stallion Studs EBF Nursery Handicap (2) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
96 3. ICONIC CHOICE Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote
95 1. BILLY NO MATES Michael Dods Callum Rodriguez
95 10. VENTURA BAY Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Billy No Mates had his rivals strung out when making a winning start in handicaps over this trip in the mud at Thirsk a fortnight ago and there is a good chance he can follow up. Iconic Choice, Caballero and Ventura Bay all have good claims too.

2.00 William Hill Supporting The Fight Against Parkinson’s Handicap (2) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
114p 5. DAYKING Saeed bin Suroor Hector Crouch
113p 11. BORODIN Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
112 10. MIKMAK Tim Easterby David Allan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Borodin improved again when winning at Thirsk a fortnight ago and can keep up the good record of 3-y-os in this decent handicap with another victory. Godolphin’s Dayking could be a smart one if he continues to go the right way after his excellent second at Kempton after another 4 months off. Borderforce is another key player, while Porth Swtan might not have finished improving either.

2.40 William Hill Ayr Silver Cup Handicap (2) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
111 9. GABRIAL THE SAINT Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
110 13. DAKOTA GOLD Michael Dods Connor Beasley
109 12. RAPID APPLAUSE Michael Easterby Nathan Evans

Analyst’s Verdict:
Holmeswood‘s run in the Portland last weekend didn’t get to the bottom of him and he’s well worth another chance here with his mark still looking a good one. Cold Stare won in good style over 7f in the mud at Haydock and can go well again under a penalty. Gabrial The Saint is another to consider.

3.15 William Hill Firth of Clyde Stakes (Group 3) (1) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
114 9. QUEEN OF BERMUDA William Haggas Joe Fanning
113 11. SHUMOOKHI Archie Watson Edward Greatrex
112 3. FIRELIGHT Andrew Balding David Probert

Analyst’s Verdict:
The vote goes to Queen of Bermuda, who left the strong impression that stepping up to this trip would be in her favour when chasing home Soldier’s Call in a French Group 3 last time. The winner boosted that form when landing the Flying Childers at Doncaster recently. Firelight is proven on soft ground and looks dangerous, along with Shumookhi and Kevin Ryan’s duo Glass Slippers and Queen Jo Jo.

3.50 William Hill Ayr Gold Cup (Heritage Handicap) (2) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
124 8. SON OF REST J. A. Stack Chris Hayes
123 6. GUNMETAL David Barron Joe Fanning
122 12. FLYING PURSUIT Tim Easterby Rachel Richardson

Analyst’s Verdict:
George Bowen did well to finish as close as he did when fifth in the Stewards’ Cup last month and, back on a stiffer track and with conditions no problem, the 6-y-o gets the nod. Offically 10 lb well-in following his fine recent effort in a Group 1, Son of Rest is obviously appealing but he’s plenty short enough in the betting. Stablemates Flying Pursuit and Golden Apollo both merit respect.

4.25 William Hill Leading Racecourse Bookmaker Handicap (2) 1¼m

Timeform Top Rated:
111 1. ERIK THE RED Kevin Ryan Kevin Stott
110 6. INDIAN CHIEF Rebecca Bastiman Joe Fanning
109+ 5. CONTANGO Andrew Balding David Probert

Analyst’s Verdict:
Contango has proved rather disappointing since finishing third to the highly progressive Hamda at York in May, but he’s edging back down the weights and is appealing back on slower ground (has won 3 of his 4 starts when the word ‘soft’ has appeared in the going description). The unexposed Collide is also proven on an easy surface and is feared most ahead of Erik The Red and Mafaaheem.

4.55 Microtech Group Handicap (3) 7f50y

Timeform Top Rated:
113 3. STAMP HILL Richard Fahey Tony Hamilton
112 1. LUALIWA Kevin Ryan Kevin Stott
111 4. HAJJAM David O’Meara David Nolan

Analyst’s Verdict:
A chance is taken on Stamp Hill, who hasn’t fired on all cylinders so far this season but he landed a valuable handicap off this mark at Ascot last year and the forecast conditions are in his favour. Lualiwa arrives on the back of a couple of solid placed efforts and should be in the mix, while Hajjam is also on the shortlist and Club Wexford is another to consider.

5.30 Jordan Electrics Ltd Handicap (3) 1m5f26y

Timeform Top Rated:
99+ 12. COUNTY FAIR Jim Goldie Daniel Tudhope
99§ 5. ARMANDIHAN Kevin Ryan Kevin Stott
98 1. ARCHI’S AFFAIRE Michael Dods Callum Rodriguez

Analyst’s Verdict:
Amazing Michele shaped well at Musselburgh last week and, now 1 lb lower and with conditions no problem (winner on soft ground at Haydock in 2017), she makes plenty of appeal. There are dangers aplenty, headed by Never Surrender, who was runner-up in a better-class handicap a fortnight ago. Armandihan, Archi’s Affaire and Super Kid all have claims, while Fools And Kings is also of interest.
