A sole Newmarket meet on Saturday as we come up to our last week on the flat and again there is Timeform for the NH at Wetherby…..just touching on that NH meeting, had the 15.15 been an 8 runner plus, it would be tempting to have a go at Keeper Hill who reverts to hurdling this term on a nice mark. There’s still around 7’s available for those fancying a good run at the 2 paying slots.

We’ve a couple for the handicaps at Newmarket for members this afternoon below.

The bank is now just shy of £4000 for those on the £1k to £10k challenge….and grown to nearly 300% with an ROI of over 26%….current stakes at 1.25% are now £48.51EW

12.20 Enjoy The Jumps On RacingUK Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (4) 3m45y

Timeform Top Rated:
130+ 4. FINGERONTHESWITCH Neil Mulholland A. P. Heskin
129p 2. THE PADDY PIE Sue Smith Danny Cook
128§ 5. KILFINICHEN BAY Charlie Longsdon Jonathan Burke

Analyst’s Verdict:
The Paddy Pie is unexposed, on the up, and has a fitness edge over some of his main rivals, so he’s a confident choice to get back to winning ways and open his account as a chaser. The well-treated Fingerontheswitch could prove the main danger ahead of Kilfinichen Bay.

12.55 bet365 Novices’ Hurdle (3) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
134p 2. THISTLE DO NICELY Jamie Snowden Tom O’Brien
133 1. BEACH BREAK Donald McCain Henry Brooke
121p 4. LOUGH LEGEND Sue Smith Danny Cook

Analyst’s Verdict:
Smackwater Jack showed plenty when narrowly denied in a Fakenham bumper in the spring and looks a good jumping prospect for his quality outfit. Beach Break and Goodthyneaway are respected.

1.30 Danny Megson 40th Birthday Celebration Handicap Chase (3) 2m3f85y

Timeform Top Rated:
137 3. NIGHTFLY Charlie Longsdon Jonathan Burke
135p 8. ABSOLUTELY DYLAN Sue Smith Danny Cook
135 4. WORKBENCH Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews

Analyst’s Verdict:
Perhaps worth chancing the unexposed Tayzar who had yet to be asked for his effort when all but coming down at the second last in a warm novice handicap at Carlisle on his chase debut/reappearance. Nightfly should go well on the back of a solid second at Worcester last month, while Absolutely Dylan jumped accurately when making a successful start over fences at Sedgefield.

2.05 OLBG.com Mares’ Hurdle (Listed) (1) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
159 3. LADY BUTTONS Philip Kirby Adam Nicol
158 2. IRISH ROE Peter Atkinson Henry Brooke
148 6. WHATZDJAZZ Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews

Analyst’s Verdict:
Irish Roe is something of a flagbearer for her small yard, and having hit the ground running over hurdles last season, this likeable mare should have more to offer. She’s just about the pick at the weights, though Lady Buttons gave a superior rival a real scare in this race 12 months ago and is a big threat.

2.40 bet365 Charlie Hall Chase (Grade 2) (1) 3m45y

Timeform Top Rated:
183? 5. DOUBLE SHUFFLE Tom George A. P. Heskin
179 1. DEFINITLY RED Brian Ellison Danny Cook
174 3. VIRGILIO Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews

Analyst’s Verdict:
Black Corton enjoyed a tremendous novice chase campaign under his in-form rider and it’s not hard to envisage a big run from him on his return. Double Shuffle excelled himself when second, beaten just a length, in last season’s King George and he could be the big danger boasting a good record fresh.

3.15 bet365 Hurdle (West Yorkshire) (Grade 2) (1) 3m26y

Timeform Top Rated:
174 2. WHOLESTONE Nigel Twiston-Davies Daryl Jacob
167 1. OLD GUARD Paul Nicholls Bryony Frost
166x 3. CLYNE Evan Williams Adam Wedge

Analyst’s Verdict:
Wholestone was placed in the big staying hurdles at Cheltenham and Aintree last season and has a great chance to make a successful reappearance. Monbeg Theatre has been on the up in handicaps, scoring over C&D last month, and is no forlorn hope stepped up in grade with several of the others having stamina to prove for 3m.

3.50 bet365 Handicap Hurdle (3) 2m3f154y

Timeform Top Rated:
138 4. SECRET LEGACY Ian Williams Tom O’Brien
137 1. HAREFIELD Alan King Tom Bellamy
136 6. JUST BOBBY Micky Hammond Joe Colliver

Analyst’s Verdict:
Secret Legacy battled well to get off the mark at Uttoxeter in April and could have more in the locker yet given his fairly useful bumper form. Harefield and Just Bobby are feared most.
