It’s Tingle Creek day at Sandown but there’s a strong card at Aintree with supporting meets from Wetherby and Chepstow. It really feels that the NH has kicked off when we read…Chepstow ‘heavy’ 🙂

Listening through the night and pulling back the curtains this morning, ‘it doesn’t look a fit day out for man or beast’….hope all come home safe and sound today 🙂

There’s nothing for us at Sandown or Aintree and we’ll concentrate on the two minor meets for our three members selections today.

For those on the new £1k to £10k, current stakes are now £11.81 EW and the bank stands at £944.86

11.55 Betway Heed Your Hunch Novices’ Hurdle (Qualifier) (3) 2m209y

Timeform Top Rated:
142p 2. ELDORADO ALLEN Colin Tizzard Tom O’Brien
138 1. CAUSE TOUJOURS Ian Williams Edward Austin (7)
125 5. WEST TO THE BRIDGE Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

Analyst’s Verdict:
Eldorado Allen created an excellent impression at Sandown last month (form proving strong) and looks a novice hurdler to follow. The Grand Visir is an interesting recruit to this sphere having shown useful from on the Flat, while Champagne Mystery also commands respect making his debut for a leading yard.

12.25 Betway Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (3) 2m3f200y

Timeform Top Rated:
145 1. CHEF D’EQUIPE Philip Hobbs Mr David Maxwell (5)
144x 2. BALLYHILL Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
143 4. CREEP DESBOIS Ben Pauling Tom Bellamy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Chef d’Equipe produced a career best when runner-up on return at Newbury last month and another bold bid looks likely. A Place Apart and Caltex both remain with potential as chasers and are feared most.

1.00 Merseyrail Handicap Hurdle (2) 2½m

Timeform Top Rated:
153 11. MAHLERVOUS Warren Greatrex Sean Bowen
152 10. FAITHFUL MOUNT Ian Williams Tom O’Brien
151 1. CH’TIBELLO Dan Skelton Conor Shoemark

Analyst’s Verdict:
Faithful Mount has gradually worked his way back to form on the level this year having missed 2017, and representing an excellent yard, he figures on a very tempting mark back over obstacles. Mahlervous finished runner-up to a stablemate of the selection at Cheltenham last month and has to be feared, with Midnight Shadow also interesting up in trip.

1.30 Becher Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (1) 3m1f188y

Timeform Top Rated:
174 2. BLAKLION Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
173 12. WALK IN THE MILL Robert Walford James Best
173 4. NOBLE ENDEAVOR Gordon Elliott Keith Donoghue

Analyst’s Verdict:
While Noble Endeavor‘s well-being needs taking on trust following a 20-month lay-off, he possesses all the required attributes for this test and earns the vote ahead of last year’s winner Blaklion. There could be more to come from Crosshue Boy back over fences and he merits respect, along with Ballyoptic and Walk In The Mill. The selection’s stablemate Don Poli completes the shortlist.

2.05 Betway Many Clouds Chase (Grade 2) (1) 3m210y

Timeform Top Rated:
181? 3. DOUBLE SHUFFLE Tom George Jonathan Burke
179 1. DEFINITLY RED Brian Ellison Danny Cook
176 4. ONE FOR ARTHUR Lucinda Russell Tom Scudamore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Definitly Red beat 3 rivals when making all in this last season and can repeat the trick after his comeback win in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby. Double Shuffle is feared most.

2.40 Betway Fillies’ Juvenile Hurdle (Listed) (1) 2m209y

Timeform Top Rated:
141P 3. GIVING GLANCES Alan King Wayne Hutchinson
140 7. SMILING ELIZA Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
136p 1. CHICA BUENA Keith Dalgleish Brian Hughes

Analyst’s Verdict:
Alan King has a good record in this race and Giving Glances is taken to enhance it on the back of an impressive start to her hurdling career at Hereford last month. The thriving Chica Buena is bidding for a fourth win in a row and is unlikely to go down without a fight, while Smiling Eliza is also respected for Gordon Elliott.

3.15 Betway Grand Sefton Handicap Chase (2) 2m5f19y

Timeform Top Rated:
161 8. KILCREA VALE Nicky Henderson Jeremiah McGrath
159 5. CATAMARAN DU SEUIL Dr Richard Newland Brian Hughes
158§ 7. SHANAHAN’S TURN Colin Tizzard Tom Scudamore

Analyst’s Verdict:
A runner-up in the Topham at the Grand National meeting, Shanahan’s Turn shaped with a good deal of promise when third on return at Chepstow in October. He probably found the test inadequate at Cheltenham subsequently and could be worth chancing to bounce back from what rates a handy mark. Kilcrea Vale, Crievehill and Warriors Tale are just 3 potential threats though, in a competitive renewal.
