Sunday – 11th November 2018

No final day hurrah with our members selection, Proud Archi, who ran 7th when we were looking at 6 paying places 🙁 ….whilst intro notes selection Reshoun ran a staying on 3rd to the strong looking John Gosden fancy, Royal Line for those who looked for a small nibble on that one.

Looking back at the season, the full spreadsheet is as ever posted in any post in the ‘Results tab‘, but a summary being:

  • 212 bets – 25 wins/63 places – 41.51 win/place rate
  • Average Price – 11.82
  • ROI – 22.45%
  • Bank Growth 263.13%

Okay so we didn’t crack the £10k as 2017 but all in all a decent return of over £3600 🙂

Did we go on too long?

You an always come back at us on that one and easy with hindsight having gone 14 bets without a winner, albeit Lord Riddiford was effectively a winner during that run. Last season we landed some good priced October winners and finished the season with just one November bet.

Perhaps a note to us should say…..quit at end of October!!

Our NH service will kick off following next weeks Cheltenham meeting, so will spend some time information gathering this  week to hopefully hit the ground running.

So that’s MONDAY 19th to kick off………however, we’ll still post Timeform up in the interim and if we feel we have anything exceptional of note we could kick off a bit early……so don’t forget to check in as there will be some new content each day through until then.

Timeform is for the Navan meeting today

12.35 John Joe Finnegan Memorial Handicap Hurdle 2¾m

Timeform Top Rated:
131 17. EPSILON INDI R. P. McNamara B. J. Cooper
130 21. WILLIAM TYNDALE Karl Thornton R. C. Colgan
129 18. SLICKER CITY T. Gibney Jonathan Moore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Oh’herewego has been thriving recently and is worth another chance after unseating his rider early at Galway 2 weeks ago. Epsilon Indi and Lord In Red complete the shortlist in a wideopen staying handicap hurdle.

1.05 For Auction Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
153p 1. QUICK GRABIM W. P. Mullins R. Walsh
152p 5. FELIX DESJY Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
151 7. MAKE MY HEART FLY Gordon Elliott Davy Russell

Analyst’s Verdict:
Quick Grabim followed up his recent Listowel maiden success in similarly easy fashion at Tipperary and remains one to follow. Felix Desjy is another exciting prospect and is next best ahead of Aramon.

1.35 Lismullen Hurdle (Grade 2) 2½m

Timeform Top Rated:
172 4. APPLE’S JADE Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
170 1. IDENTITY THIEF Henry de Bromhead Rachael Blackmore
161 3. JEZKI Mrs J. Harrington Barry Geraghty

Analyst’s Verdict:
Very smart mare Apple’s Jade boasts a healthy strike rate and is taken to win this race for a second year running. Identity Thief and Dortmund Park can perhaps complete a 1-2-3 for Gigginstown.

2.10 thetote.com Fortria Chase (Grade 2) 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
176 2. DOCTOR PHOENIX Gordon Elliott Davy Russell
174 1. BALLYOISIN Enda Bolger Barry Geraghty
166+ 3. ORDINARY WORLD Henry de Bromhead B. J. Cooper

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ballyoisin is thriving this season and can make it 4 from 4. Doctor Phoenix is the obvious threat.

2.40 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Beginners Chase 2m1f

Timeform Top Rated:
139p 3. DUCA DE THAIX Gordon Elliott J. W. Kennedy
136p 8. TRAINWRECK Henry de Bromhead Rachael Blackmore
136+ 6. SCOIR MEAR Thomas Mullins M. P. Walsh

Analyst’s Verdict:
A hot beginners’ chase that can go to Trainwreck if he jumps better. Indeed, the useful novice hurdler may have won on his return at Punchestown had he stood up, and he looks worth backing to make amends. Dolciano Dici is a big player quickly sent chasing by Willie Mullins, while Us And Them made a promising start in this sphere at Wexford and is another likely to win over fences before long.

3.15 Hotel Park- St Johann Tirol Austria Handicap Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
140p 4. WONDER LAISH Charles Byrnes Davy Russell
139 6. OSCARS DEN T. M. Walsh R. Walsh
138 11. THEOPHILUS Desmond McDonogh A. E. Lynch

Analyst’s Verdict:
Wonder Laish is useful on the Flat and remains with potential in this sphere. Oscars Den and Crosshue Boy head the dangers.

3.45 Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (Pro/Am) I.N.H Flat 2m

Timeform Top Rated:
107p 6. COLUMN OF FIRE Gordon Elliott Ms Lisa O’Neill
89 11. TWO SHOE TOM Peter Fahey Mr D. G. Lavery (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Column of Fire impressed when second in a 1-2-3 for connections in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown and will be hard to beat on his return. Cenotice might be the biggest danger ahead of Getaway North.
