Very little of note today at Leicester or Windsor……..Jason Watson is chasing the apprentices title and gets a decent shout with Captain Jameson in the Leicester (15.45) though at just under wipes yer face odds, whilst a little more rain  will aid Ladweb’s chances in the Windsor (16.35). He generally takes a couple of races to come to hand and aimed at a back end campaign’s on the easier surfaces – he’s won off this sort of mark and on at wipes yer face prices today but we’ll certainly be tracking him in on in now.

There’s Timeform for the meet at The Curragh and we’ll be back at 8.00am in the morning

1.55 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden 5f

Timeform Top Rated
92p 10. ROCKVIEW SPIRIT John McConnell G. F. Carroll
81p 7. MID WINSTER A. Slattery Ben Martin Coen (7)
79p 4. CHESTNUT EXPRESS Darren Bunyan C. D. Hayes

Analyst’s Verdict:
Rockview Spirit shaped well when third on debut at Navan and sets the standard on that form. Newcomers Carbon Fibre and Cuileann need keeping an eye on.

2.25 Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Irish European Breeders Fund Maiden 5f

Timeform Top Rated
86+ 7. AJMERA John Patrick Murtagh S. B. Kelly (3)
82p 4. RUN THE DAY K. J. Condon N. G. McCullagh

Analyst’s Verdict:
Run The Day has taken big steps with each run and still has further room for improvement, so gets the nod over Ajmera, who was a bit disappointing last time. Hot Stone is best of the others.

3.00 Loder Irish European Breeders Fund Fillies 7f

Timeform Top Rated
100p 3. LADY KAYA Ms Sheila Lavery R. C. Colgan
93p 2. FULMINATE G. M. Lyons C. T. Keane
90p 1. DRAGON ROLL Mrs J. Harrington W. M. Lordan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lady Kaya shaped like a useful prospect when third on debut here 2 months ago and this extra 1f should bring out improvement. Penalised-winners Fulminate and Dragon Roll are likely dangers.

3.35 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (Group 1) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
122p 1. ADVERTISE Martyn Meade Frankie Dettori
120p 3. SERGEI PROKOFIEV Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
116 6. SO PERFECT Aidan O’Brien Seamie Heffernan

Analyst’s Verdict:
A potential match between Advertise and Sergei Prokofiev. There wasn’t much between the pair when placed in the Coventry at Royal Ascot but Advertise has since enhanced his profile by winning the July Stakes at Newmarket and is taken to come out on top again.

4.10 Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club Phoenix Sprint Stakes (Group 3) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
124 5. SPIRIT OF VALOR Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
120 1. GORDON LORD BYRON T. Hogan William James Lee
118 6. GORANE Henry de Bromhead Declan McDonogh

Analyst’s Verdict:
Spirit of Valor wasn’t beaten far in the Lennox at Goodwood 12 days ago and can get off the mark for the season back down to a Group 3. Speak In Colours and Urban Beat are feared most.

4.45 Derek O’Sullivan Memorial Apprentice Handicap 5f

Timeform Top Rated
89 13. POLLY DOUGLAS Kieran Patrick Cotter D. E. Hogan
88 1. ENTER THE RED Aidan Anthony Howard T. P. Madden
88 12. TUSH W. T. Farrell Ben Martin Coen (2)

Analyst’s Verdict:
The handicapper has given Enter The Red a chance having quickly dropped him back to a mark lower than when successful at Navan on his final start last term and he’s taken to build on his Listowel return and resume winning ways. Caesar’s Comet ran well on both outings for Peter Fahey and should go close if continuing in the same vein for Denis Hogan. Down Royal scorer Haqeeba is also shortlisted.

5.15 Sensational Kids Handicap 1m

Timeform Top Rated
106 3. WILD AS THE WIND W. McCreery William James Lee
105+ 1. TEXAS ROCK M. C. Grassick Oisin James Orr (3)
105 10. TREMENDOUS LEAP Joseph Patrick O’Brien W. M. Lordan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Medal of Honour disappointed last time but is given another chance having won in good style over this C&D on return. Wild As The Wind and Lethal Power head the dangers.
