Just Goodwood on the turf today and in the 16.55 Alaadel was only beaten 4 lengths down in 7th in The Ayr Gold Cup after a slow start and hitting traffic. LTO was run over an inadequate 5f at Ascot so should be sharp and ready for this. Stuart Williams string are in good form and should be thereabouts though only a just wipes yer face price 6/1 is available.

2.15 Champion Hats Juvenile Hurdle (4) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated:
142p 2. QUEL DESTIN Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
129p 1. FANFAN DU SEUIL Tom George Noel Fehily
115 7. ANGEL OF THE NORTH Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

Analyst’s Verdict:
Quel Destin was a fairly useful winner in France and looks an exciting recruit for his powerful stable. Fanfan du Seuil is another winning French recruit, while Elysees showed plenty of ability on the level.

2.50 Istadia Outdoor Led Screens Supports Racing Novices’ Chase (3) 2m7f131y

Timeform Top Rated:
153p 2. CHAMERON Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
149 1. DRINKS INTERVAL Colin Tizzard Richard Johnson

Analyst’s Verdict:
French-recruit Chameron showed near-useful form when runner-up on chase/yard debut at Exeter 11 months ago and remains a good prospect for connections. Drinks Interval is 2 from 3 over fences and is the obvious threat despite her penalty, while Minella Awards was smart over hurdles and is a very interesting chasing debutant.

3.25 Fox Family Persian War Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (1) 2m3f100y

Timeform Top Rated:
152 1. COOLANLY Fergal O’Brien Paddy Brennan
151 4. EQUUS MILLAR Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
150 8. SECRET INVESTOR Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden

Analyst’s Verdict:
Coolanly‘s form looks strong and with this step back up in trip sure to suit he’s worth siding with for a yard bidding to win this race for a second year running. Minella Warrior and Gosheven remain capable of better and are feared most.

4.00 Gent Transport & Warehousing Veterans’ Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (Leg 6) (2) 2m7f131y

Timeform Top Rated:
161+ 7. DOUBLE ROSS Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
159 1. THEATRE GUIDE Colin Tizzard Paddy Brennan
158 8. EXITAS Phil Middleton Mr Tommie M. O’Brien (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Double Ross was fourth in this race last year from 9 lb higher and should be all the better for his return at Perth, so a good run looks on the cards. Exitas was back in the groove when winning at Market Rasen 15 days ago and should remain competitive. On Tour is another to consider given his excellent record fresh.

4.35 Fergal O’Brien Racing Handicap Hurdle (2) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated:
148p 9. HONEST VIC Henry Daly Andrew Tinkler
147 2. I’M A GAME CHANGER Philip Hobbs Richard Johnson
145p 1. BALLYMOY Nigel Twiston-Davies Daryl Jacob

Analyst’s Verdict:
Honest Vic would have gone close but for making a late error when in front at Market Rasen last time, costing him ground and momentum, and can gain compensation here, though there are plenty of feasible alternatives with Ballymoy, I’m A Game Changer and Lovato all worthy of respect.

5.10 John Ayres Memorial Handicap Chase (2) 2m3f98y

Timeform Top Rated:
170 2. ART MAURESQUE Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
169? 6. BARON ALCO Gary Moore Jamie Moore
165 5. BARNEY DWAN Fergal O’Brien Noel Fehily

Analyst’s Verdict:
Barney Dwan ran a cracker when fourth in the novice handicap at Cheltenham last March and remains on a workable mark. He is taken to land a tricky-looking contest. Charbel has kept much better company than this and ran creditably on his return last month, whilst the potentially well-handicapped Garde La Victoire is also respected.

5.40 Silvershine Trading Ltd Standard Open National Hunt Flat (4) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated:
125 6. FONTLEY HOUSE Tom George Ciaran Gethings
117p 3. ASK DILLON Fergal O’Brien Paddy Brennan
114p 2. ALRIGHTJACK Jamie Snowden Gavin Sheehan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ask Dillon shaped well amidst obvious signs of greenness when runner-up at Towcester in May, hanging right but keeping on. He looks sure to improve and gets the nod to make it second-time lucky. Fontley House ran a cracker on his sole start in Ireland and is feared most, whilst newcomers McFabulous and Lisnagar Oscar are also worth a second look, as is Allonok.
