Just Goodwood on the turf today and in the 16.55 Alaadel was only beaten 4 lengths down in 7th in The Ayr Gold Cup after a slow start and hitting traffic. LTO was run over an inadequate 5f at Ascot so should be sharp and ready for this. Stuart Williams string are in good form and should be thereabouts though only a just wipes yer face price 6/1 is available.

French-recruit Chameron showed near-useful form when runner-up on chase/yard debut at Exeter 11 months ago and remains a good prospect for connections. Drinks Interval is 2 from 3 over fences and is the obvious threat despite her penalty, while Minella Awards was smart over hurdles and is a very interesting chasing debutant.

Coolanly‘s form looks strong and with this step back up in trip sure to suit he’s worth siding with for a yard bidding to win this race for a second year running. Minella Warrior and Gosheven remain capable of better and are feared most.

Double Ross was fourth in this race last year from 9 lb higher and should be all the better for his return at Perth, so a good run looks on the cards. Exitas was back in the groove when winning at Market Rasen 15 days ago and should remain competitive. On Tour is another to consider given his excellent record fresh.

Barney Dwan ran a cracker when fourth in the novice handicap at Cheltenham last March and remains on a workable mark. He is taken to land a tricky-looking contest. Charbel has kept much better company than this and ran creditably on his return last month, whilst the potentially well-handicapped Garde La Victoire is also respected.

Fontley House ran a cracker on his sole start in Ireland and is feared most, whilst newcomers McFabulous and Lisnagar Oscar are also worth a second look, as is Allonok.
