1.15 Steve And Sue Ibberson Happy Retirement Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (3) 2m5f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Any number to consider, but The Dellercheckout looked an ideal candidate for a breathing operation following a string of weak finishes last season, and now he’s had that surgery his form could take off. Palmers Hill is another second-season hurdler with the potential to rate a lot higher, while Ballyhome, Utility and Sliding Doors are also interesting.

Timeform Top Rated:
136§ 14. UTILITY David Bridgwater Callum McKinnes (7)
135p 16. BALLYHOME Fergal O’Brien Connor Brace (10)
134 19. MAGUIRE’S GLEN Grace Harris Conor Ring

1.50 Racing Post Arkle Trophy Trial Novices’ Chase (November) (Grade 2) (1) 1m7f199y
Rating of previous winners: 163 160 165 162 162 (Avg 162)

Analyst’s Verdict:
A case can be made for each member of the sextet in this fascinating contest. Dynamite Dollars didn’t leave quite as indelible a mark as some of these over hurdles, but the manner of his chase debut success strongly suggested that he is going to take high rank in this sphere. Claimantakinforgan also made a bright start to his chase career and is feared most ahead of Defi du Seuil.

Timeform Top Rated:
164p 1. CLAIMANTAKINFORGAN Nicky Henderson Jeremiah McGrath
163 5. ONE FOR BILLY Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
161p 3. DYNAMITE DOLLARS Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden

2.25 Shloer Chase (Cheltenham) (Grade 2) (1) 1m7f199y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 176 178 196 184 182 (Avg 183)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Not much to choose between these on ratings but Sceau Royal showed very smart form in a truncated first season over fences and could have even more to offer this term. Brain Power is feared most ahead of Le Prezien.

Timeform Top Rated:
177 3. SCEAU ROYAL Alan King Daryl Jacob
175 4. BRAIN POWER Nicky Henderson Aidan Coleman
175? 6. SIZING GRANITE Colin Tizzard Richard Johnson

3.00 Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) (1) 2m87y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ultra competitive as always. Western Ryder strikes as being well treated based on his excellent effort in the Supreme over C&D in March and gets the nod but there are stacks of dangers, headed by County-winner Mohaayed and the thriving Verdana Blue. Silver Streak is much respected as he goes in search of a hat-trick of valuable successes, while 4-y-o Nube Negra could progress again this term.

Timeform Top Rated:
162 5. WESTERN RYDER Warren Greatrex Richard Johnson
161 3. MOHAAYED Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews
160 1. OLD GUARD Paul Nicholls Lorcan Williams (5)

3.30 Sky Bet Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle (Sharp) (Grade 2) (1) 2m87y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 157 165 154 153 159 (Avg 158)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Some exciting hurdling prospects on show, none more so than Seddon, who had plenty in hand when scoring on hurdling debut at Stratford just over 2 weeks ago. Itchy Feet, Anytime Will Do and Colonel Custard are others unbeaten over hurdles, and they may well chase the selection home in that order.

Timeform Top Rated:
147p 5. SEDDON Tom George A. P. Heskin
146 1. ITCHY FEET Olly Murphy Gavin Sheehan
140p 2. ANYTIME WILL DO Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

4.00 High Sheriff of Gloucestershire And Racing Remember Standard Open National Hunt Flat (Listed) (1) 2m87y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 138 137 136 128 128 (Avg 133)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Master Debonair’s second to Strong Glance over C&D last month appeals as very strong form and he must go close with a repeat. McFabulous created an excellent impression at Chepstow and could be the main threat ahead of the promising Ribble Valley.

Timeform Top Rated:
128 3. MASTER DEBONAIR Colin Tizzard James Bowen
126p 4. MCFABULOUS Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
125p 8. UNWIN VC Bob Buckler Sean Houlihan

  1. There’s been some great handicaps this week end in which I had 3 out of 4 winners disappointed in not having any bets
    Thanks Joseph shannon

    • Glad you had some winners Joseph and didn’t need us 🙂

As you know we tend to leave all the C1 and 2 stuff alone and have taken a quick weeks break 🙂

We’ll be kicking off tomorrow as advertised with hopefully something for Plumpton or Hereford
