A welcome winner with MY AMIGO yesterday that was heavily backed from the moment we posted – hopefully most of you got some of the double digit price or somewhere close opposed to the 5’s it was backed into. Our other selection, Rock Warbler, ran well enough but just can’t score on the turf – though we hardly back on the AW will be worth looking at when reverting to that surface.

Our previous winner, Richard Fahey’s Andoc followed up at 3/1, just under our ‘play’ odds of around 5’s – it looked a relatively smooth and easy win under Sebastian Woods and depending on what he gets raised for that certainly looks on the upgrade at the moment in this Class having been targeted at C3 & 4 for the earlier part of the season.

Today looks like another wet Ponty Sunday afternoon and we’ve just one for members there with supporting Timeform below for those looking for an assist.

A nice winner with My Amigo in a race that went pretty much as hoped 🙂 let’ look to build on that today

Ponty 17.10

The rain has come at the right time to aid VAN GERWEN’S chances here for last years winning trainer Les Eyre. Ideally positioned he should be able to break smartly and be up around with the pace. He has a decent track record here and is generally around the slots when running of mid 70’s.

He was 2nd here back in  May over this tip and going off 78 and today’s 75 should see him competitive with David Allan up top who rides this as well as anyone. There a mix of 8’s and 9’s depending on account this morning.

2.00 Trevor Woods Memorial EBF Novice Stakes (4) 5f3y

Timeform Top Rated:
89 6. WORLD ORDER Declan Carroll Daniel Tudhope
84 3. HARD SOLUTION David O’Meara David Nolan
79p 2. DON LOGAN Richard Fahey John Egan

Analyst’s Verdict:
World Order is in danger of becoming disappointing, but with blinkers enlisted from a good draw, he is perhaps worth one more chance. Don Logan was unable to fully open up starting out at Wolverhampton, and he can give the selection most to think about.

2.30 Dickies Workwear At Junction 32 Outlet Handicap (3) 1½m5y

Timeform Top Rated:
102 3. LYNWOOD GOLD Mark Johnston Franny Norton
101 1. TOR Iain Jardine Joe Fanning
101 6. AL DESTOOR Jennie Candlish David Nolan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Tor continues in top form and might be able to defy top weight. Desert Ruler and C&D winner Arrowtown are a couple of the other likely sorts.

3.05 Moor Top Farm Shop Hemsworth Handicap (5) 2m1f27y

Timeform Top Rated:
83 4. BECKY THE THATCHER Micky Hammond Franny Norton
82 1. WIND PLACE AND SHO James Eustace Ryan Tate
82 3. CRAY James Bethell Daniel Tudhope

Analyst’s Verdict:
Becky The Thatcher was picked off late when attempting to complete a course hat-trick in June, and given a short break, she could easily continue the good work as she remains on a good mark based on her hurdles form. Dagueneau is a last-time-out winning 3-y-o so has to be feared under a penalty.

3.35 EBF Stallions Highfield Farm Flying Fillies’ Stakes (Listed) (1) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
123 8. FOXTROT LADY Andrew Balding David Probert
119 12. ROCK ON BAILEYS Chris Dwyer Joe Fanning
116 9. GOLDEN SPELL John Patrick Murtagh Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Foxtrot Lady has progressed into a smart sprinter this season and can resume winning ways back against her own sex having taken on seasoned handicappers in the Stewards’ Cup last time. The thriving Rock On Baileys is next best ahead of Irish-raider Golden Spell.

4.05 William Hill Handicap (3) 1m6y

Timeform Top Rated:
117 5. AUTRETOT David O’Meara Joe Fanning
112p 2. GEORGIAN MANOR Sir Michael Stoute Richard Kingscote
110 1. COMPLETION William Haggas Daniel Tudhope

Analyst’s Verdict:
Georgian Manor quickly regained the progressive thread when doubling his career tally at Doncaster last month and, with further improvement a distinct possibility, he is fancied to make a bold bid once more. Autretot and Knighted rate next best.

4.40 William Hill Novice Stakes (4) 1m6y

Timeform Top Rated:
81 3. MOVE IN FASTER Michael Dods Connor Beasley
69 2. MEADOW WAY Michael Easterby Harrison Shaw (5)
68 6. ARCTIC ROLL David Brown Tom Eaves

Analyst’s Verdict:
Hareeq is an expensive yearling who makes a good deal of appeal on paper, so the percentage call is to side with him for leading connections, without the benefit of market clues. Move In Faster and Yajooll look likeliest to give the selection most to do.

5.10 Nova Display Handicap (5) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
88 6. POWER TO EXCEED Hugo Palmer Tom Marquand
87 8. AVENUE OF STARS Karen McLintock Connor Beasley
86 2. THE AMBER FORT Michael Herrington Connor Murtagh (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Campion might not have quite such an appealing profile as some of her rivals, but she’s well handicapped on her 2-y-o efforts, back in form, and has an ideal draw in stall 2, so there’s plenty to recommend her here. Bibbidibobbidiboo is sure to post another solid effort and Power To Exceed is on the up, though they both have relatively wide draws to negotiate.
