We’ve had a look at those two divisions of the Peter Chapman Handicap at Redcar and there’s nothing standout or of value. The Div 1 has NT’s Kilbaha Lady going off around 3’s and in the subsequent race, Sir Mark Prescott’s horse, Grey Spirit, was given to us a one to watch last year and likely to be odds on. Possibly both of interest to you lumpers but we’ll keep the powder dry today and get back to looking at Ayr, Beverley & Windsor tomorrow.

The speedmeisters views come from The Curragh today.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge, it’s been 3 months of incremental profits…….our bank has grown by over 75% with an ROI of over 20%….current stakes are now £21.92 EW

1.45 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden 6f

Timeform Top Rated
92p 6. FIRE FLY Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
84 4. CHOCOLATE MUSIC Mrs J. Harrington C. O’Donoghue
84 7. FOXTROT LIV P. Twomey William James Lee

Analyst’s Verdict:
Aidan O’Brien should dominate this maiden and, while Fire Fly hasn’t achieved as much as might have been expected to this point, she has the experience edge on her stablemates and Ryan Moore rarely gets it wrong when taking his pick from this stable. Of the trainer’s other representatives, Mona Lisa’s Smile (by Deep Impact) looks likely to be a bit more forward than Credenza (by Galileo).

2.20 Victoria Racing Club Trophy Nursery Handicap 6f

Timeform Top Rated
102 3. FACETHEPUCKOUT Joseph Patrick O’Brien W. M. Lordan
100 5. URBAN LIGHT John Patrick Murtagh Shane Foley
99 2. SILVER SERVICE Michael Mulvany G. F. Carroll

Analyst’s Verdict:
Cuban Surfer shaped well on debut and, while she has failed to build on that, it would be no surprise, given her connections and pedigree, were she to find a good deal of improvement now her attentions are turned to nurseries. Evasive Power is tackling lesser opposition than last time and clearly comes into the equation along with Facethepuckout.

2.55 Sapphire Stakes (Group 2) 5f

Timeform Top Rated
131 1. CASPIAN PRINCE Michael Appleby C. T. Keane
128 2. WASHINGTON DC Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien
127 4. MABS CROSS Michael Dods Tom Eaves

Analyst’s Verdict:
Caspian Prince is as good as he’s ever been and, without serious competition for the lead in this smallish field, he could be away and gone before the others even begin to hit top gear. He’s a confident selection ahead of Washington DC, who’s last run is best excused, and Mabs Cross.

3.30 Kilboy Estate Stakes (Group 2) 1m1f

Timeform Top Rated
120p 6. SEPTEMBER Aidan O’Brien Seamie Heffernan
120 4. MAGICAL Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
115 1. I’M SO FANCY Mrs J. Harrington C. O’Donoghue

Analyst’s Verdict:
Magical doesn’t have the same scope as September, but the latter has a longer-than-ideal absence to overcome having been last seen finishing second at the Breeders Cup and the selection gets the approval of Ryan Moore, so he’s taken to come out on top in a contest that the pair should dominate on ratings. I’m So Fancy is the clear pick of the remainder.

4.05 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap 1m

Timeform Top Rated
107 3. ARTISTIC MELODY G. M. Lyons C. T. Keane
106 5. TRIPLE SEC P. J. Prendergast A. J. Slattery (7)
105 7. SYNDICATE J. J. Feane W. M. Lordan

Analyst’s Verdict:
A competitive race of its type with the narrow vote in favour of Bona Fide. Dermot Weld’s filly justified good support when landing a 10-runner maiden at Gowran 48 days ago, and she has plenty of potential for better still now handicapping. This is a race featuring a whole host of in-form sorts though, with Artistic Melody and Terzetto chief amongst the dangers.

4.40 Killashee Handicap 2m

Timeform Top Rated
97 1. PEARL OF THE WEST John McConnell T. P. Madden (5)
96 4. SHE’S A STAR Noel Meade C. T. Keane
95 2. SANDYMOUNT DUKE Mrs J. Harrington C. O’Donoghue

Analyst’s Verdict:
Cliffs of Dooneen managed to make it first time lucky despite showing obvious signs of greenness initially at Bellewstown 17 days ago. He ought to have derived plenty from that and is fancied to make it 2-2 under Ryan Moore. Pearl of The West and Sandymount Duke are next best.

5.15 Kildare Post & Kildare Now Fillies Maiden 1m

Timeform Top Rated
91p 11. PARK BLOOM J. S. Bolger K. J. Manning
89 17. VIVIANITE M. Halford Shane Foley
86 14. PROUD AND ELATED Joseph Patrick O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien

Analyst’s Verdict:
Park Bloom has improved with each run to date, runnerup over further at Gowran 4 weeks ago and she is fancied to go one place better given her potential for better still. Zarena is another likely improver who is feared, whilst Ancestral is a most appealing newcomer who is also worth a close look.
