A cracking Saturday with a nice follow up to Mr Strutter doing the business on Friday, with MUSHARRIF winning at Beverley yesterday..…advised 15/2…backed to 7/1 and Michael Dods Intense Romance just caught in the final furlong in the 13.50 at Sandown…backed EW at 16/1.

That’s pushed us to £40 or so shy of £3k on our £1k to £10k and a cracking start to our final couple of months of the flat. To keep up our personal ‘feelgood’ factor….the only race we commented on at Chester saw Bossipop come home in front of our recommendation Reputation for those who were looking at EW acca’s.

2.00 Antiques Vintage & Collectables Fair 21 October Handicap (6) 5f60y

Timeform Top Rated
81 4. JEOPARDY JOHN Michael Attwater Paddy Bradley (5)
79 2. TERRI RULES Julia Feilden Rossa Ryan (3)
79 3. INVISIBLE STORM William Stone Hollie Doyle

Analyst’s Verdict:
Terri Rules confirmed she’s still on the upgrade when bagging her fourth win of the season at Yarmouth last time and looks the one to beat having already won over this C&D this summer. Jeopardy John is becoming well treated and is feared most.

2.30 Brian And Val Ruby Wedding Anniversary Maiden Auction Stakes (6) 5f60y

Timeform Top Rated
78p 6. GREGARIOUS GIRL Stuart Williams Harry Bentley
76 7. MAID FROM THE MIST John Gallagher Gabriele Malune (5)
73 3. GLOBAL GODDESS Gay Kelleway Aaron Jones (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
By no means a deep contest, so Finch Hatton wouldn’t have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning start. Gregarious Girl is open to improvement and is the clear pick of those with experience.

3.00 cinestock.co.uk Drive-In Cinema Handicap (4) 5f215y

Timeform Top Rated
98 2. LIGHTNING CHARLIE Amanda Perrett Jason Watson (3)
97 7. COMPAS SCOOBIE Stuart Williams Martin Dwyer
96 1. HART STOPPER Stuart Williams Harry Bentley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lightning Charlie capitalised on his lowest mark for 2 years when scoring over C&D last month and he is fancied to make a bold bid to follow up. Pour La Victoire also arrives in rude health and he is feared most, ahead of Compas Scoobie.

3.30 Chandlers BMW & Mini 68 Plate Novice Stakes (4) 6f210y

Timeform Top Rated
95 2. MISS CELESTIAL Sir Mark Prescott Bt Luke Morris
92p 7. TONY CHESTNUT Peter Chapple-Hyam Jack Mitchell
87 1. TWO BLONDES Mick Channon Scott McCullagh (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Miss Celestial wasn’t beaten far in a Group 3 at Deauville last time and sets a decent standard under a penalty. Tony Chestnut showed plenty to work on at Yarmouth, while expensivenewcomer Island Jungle needs keeping an eye on.

4.00 EBF Fillies’ Handicap (4) 1m1f207y

Timeform Top Rated
93 4. LAST ENCHANTMENT Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop
92 5. FANFAIR Richard Hannon Rossa Ryan (3)
91 1. LIGHTENING DANCE Amanda Perrett Jason Watson (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lightening Dance reacted positively to a hood when scoring at Salisbury last month and might be capable of following up under useful claimer Jason Watson. The reliable Double Reflection rates an obvious danger, while Last Enchantment will also be thereabouts if bouncing back from a lesser run last time.

4.30 Holcombe Handicap (5) 1m3f198y

Timeform Top Rated
91 1. PURPLE ROCK Gay Kelleway Aaron Jones (3)
90 2. ARCHIMENTO William Knight Jason Watson (3)
90 3. ROY ROCKET John Berry John Egan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Purple Rock has looked in good form for new trainer Gay Kellaway and is on a winning mark. His recent outings have been over 1m but he is effective over this longer distance and is preferred to course regulars Roy Rocket and Archimento.

5.00 Joan Angela Harvey 80th Birthday Apprentice Handicap (5) 7f211y

Timeform Top Rated
91 5. FIRE TREE Charlie Fellowes Aled Beech (3)
85 6. DE VEGAS KID Tony Carroll Poppy Bridgwater (3)
84 3. ARCHIE Richard Spencer Scott McCullagh (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Fire Tree is very well weighted, and having looked on the way back at Chester, his latest effort is easy to forgive given he was left with a lot to do. With a visor back on, he’s a sporting alternative to Red Charmer, who seeks a 4-timer.
