Musselburgh and Epsom today with Timeform for the latter……looking at past selections, we backed Roundabout Magic for a place last month – last run went off too hard and weakened quickly, however despite the 10’s on offer has never really done it on ground with cut and a leaver in the Epsom 17.15 for us today. Same can be said of Crosse Fire who goes in the same race and more at home on the AW despite Theodore Ladd being up top.

We have a couple out this afternoon for members below……

2.00 Saga Insurance Nursery Handicap (4) 7f3y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Feel Glorious should be suited by the step up to 7f and is on a good mark based on her maiden win at Goodwood. Lady Cosette shaped as though she has more to offer at Doncaster last time and is next best ahead of Winter Gleam.

Timeform Top Rated
97 3. FEEL GLORIOUS George Baker Pat Cosgrave
96+ 5. LADY COSETTE Jeremy Noseda Andrea Atzeni
95 7. WINTER GLEAM William Knight Harry Bentley

2.30 Investec Conditions Stakes (2) 1m113y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 120 119 114 111 107 (Avg 114)

Analyst’s Verdict:
A useful and closely contested minor event. Persian Moon is narrowly the pick on his best form and gets the nod even though he has to put a below par effort on heavy ground behind him. Pogo is slightly more exposed but arguably ran his best race last time, and won’t be far away, and neither will Three Comets, who has a bit to find but should improve after only 2 runs.

Timeform Top Rated
108 1. PERSIAN MOON Mark Johnston Silvestre De Sousa
105 2. POGO Charles Hills Callum Shepherd
94p 3. THREE COMETS Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni

3.05 Saga Magazine Handicap (3) 1m113y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ganayem wasn’t seen to best effect when prominent in the betting for the Sandringham at Royal Ascot when last seen and she remains a filly of potential. Ace Ventura failed to meet expectations at Chelmsford on return in June but is worth another chance, while Arigato should make a bold bid for the hat-trick.

3.35 Saga Travel Handicap (3) 7f3y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Juanito Chico caught the eye starting out for Stuart Williams at Sandown 16 days ago, and having been eased 3 lb since, he rates a fascinating contender. Corazon Espinado’s runner-up effort on the AW recently is a strong piece of form and he is feared, along with Rebel Assault back over 7f.

109 5. JUANITO CHICO Stuart Williams Daniel Muscutt
106 4. CORAZON ESPINADO Simon Dow Harry Bentley
105 1. SIR TITAN Marcus Tregoning Hayley Turner

4.10 Gary Sears 60th Birthday Celebration Handicap (4) 7f3y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Zeyzoun is bred to be a good deal better than this grade of handicap and has gradually come to hand since joining a shrewd yard, shaping well last time, so it’s worth chancing that this is the day he puts it all together and gets off the mark in Britain. The rampant De Vegas Kid must be respected once again for all this is a stronger race than last time and Glenn Coco is another to consider.

98 1. DOURADO Patrick Chamings Jason Watson (3)
97 9. DE VEGAS KID Tony Carroll Poppy Bridgwater (5)
96 5. POETIC FORCE Tony Carroll George Downing

4.45 Saga Charitable Trust Handicap (5) 1m113y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Central City was immediately revitalised by Ian Williams to land the ‘Leger Legends’ event at Doncaster recently and returns to handicaps on a fair mark, so there’s every reason to assume he can follow up before picking up more success for his new handler. Face Like Thunder and Stringybark Creek, who both arrive at the top of their game, rank as the main dangers.

Timeform Top Rated
87 6. FACE LIKE THUNDER Andrew Balding Jason Watson (3)
85 1. NIGHTINGALE VALLEY Stuart Kittow Tom Queally
85 2. STRINGYBARK CREEK David Loughnane Laura Coughlan (7)

5.15 Saga Possibilities Handicap (5) 6f3y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Canford’s Joy has yet to come close to his juvenile form in 2018, but the switch to Amy Murphy could well see him revive, and the booking of De Sousa is certainly an eye-catching one. Swanton Blue performed with credit in a better race than this at Goodwood on Wednesday, with Your Choice completing the shortlist.

87 5. CANFORD’S JOY Amy Murphy Silvestre De Sousa
84 7. INCENTIVE Stuart Kittow Liam Keniry
83 4. SEAMSTER David Loughnane Laura Coughlan (7)

  1. At least I managed to cover losses a bit with a good priced place on Kynren. Seems your C2 tips are getting better now they aren’t official members picks 🙂

    • Ha Simon 🙂 perhaps we should throw a few more in when we find progressive types scaling the ranks? Dakota Gold was also on our radar yesterday but a tad short 🙁 Not a good day at the office but overall the seasons trend has been positive 🙂
