Absolutely gutted we missed out on Crazy Tornado last night – we’d been watching him drop the weights on the fast surfaces and were honestly waiting for a mile on this surface. Last night as we said he had a poor draw and had never stayed the extended mile previously……….arghhh!! 🙁  🙁

Today sees a nice meet at Chester with a couple of handicaps at the back end of the afternoon and we’ll be having a look at a big priced EW shot in one of those for members.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 170% to nearly £3k with an ROI of over 40%….current stakes are now £34.19 EW.

1.50 Thyme People Nursery Handicap (4) 6f17y

Timeform Top Rated:
98 2. HAFEET ALAIN Adrian Nicholls Andrew Mullen
94p 1. QUIET ENDEAVOUR Archie Watson Edward Greatrex
94 3. JENSUE Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote

Analyst’s Verdict:
Hafeet Alain took his form up a notch when scoring at Doncaster last time and doesn’t look over-burdened on his nursery bow. He can follow up in the opener. Dual Chelmsford winner Quiet Endeavour will be dangerous if translating that form to turf, whilst Jensue also merits consideration.

2.25 MBNA / EBF Novice Stakes (4) 7f1y

Timeform Top Rated:
90p 1. THE TRADER Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
87p 6. SPIRIT WARNING Andrew Balding David Probert
85p 3. GABRIAL THE ONE Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan

Analyst’s Verdict:
The Trader was a good winner at Beverley 4 weeks ago, his strength at the finish the most taking part of his performance, and he can continue the good work from the plum draw in stall 1. Spirit Warning and Gabrial The One can do battle for minor honours.

3.00 Caldwell Construction Queensferry Stakes (Listed) (1) 6f17y

Timeform Top Rated:
129 2. KIMBERELLA Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
126 1. PERFECT PASTURE Michael Easterby David Allan
125 3. MAJOR JUMBO Kevin Ryan Kevin Stott

Analyst’s Verdict:
Major Jumbo might have won only once this season but he’s built up a terrific record in high-end handicaps and looks well worth a shot at this level at a track which should suit his style. Perfect Pasture may emerge as the biggest threat, especially if there’s any rain.

3.30 ESL Group Handicap (4) 1½m63y

Timeform Top Rated:
92 2. GOSSIP COLUMN Ian Williams P. J. McDonald
91 1. JABBAAR Iain Jardine Phillip Makin
91 6. BERKSHIRE ROYAL Andrew Balding Jason Watson (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
This could be the day everything comes right again for Gabrial’s King. He’s back in form and ran a cracker in a much-stronger handicap over C&D at the May meeting. Berkshire Royal is a big player having chased home a smart Godolphin prospect at Ascot on the back of a win over C&D. Jabbaar has solid place claims.

4.05 chesterBET / EBF Stallions Conditions Stakes (2) 6f17y

Timeform Top Rated:
106 5. ROCKIN ROY Archie Watson Oisin Murphy
103p 1. SUNSPRITE Richard Hughes David Egan
101 2. GABRIAL THE WIRE Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Rockin Roy has run to a similar level on pretty much all of his starts so far but that may well be enough to complete the hat-trick on these terms. The progressive Sunsprite is the obvious threat.

4.40 Britvic Handicap (3) 7f127y

Timeform Top Rated:
106 5. DRAGONS TAIL Tom Dascombe Elisha Whittington (7)
105 12. VISCOUNT LOFTUS Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
103 1. HELLS BABE Michael Appleby Alistair Rawlinson

Analyst’s Verdict:
Rene Mathis didn’t deliver at the finish here last time but he had dug deep when landing a C&D claimer prior to that and is well handicapped if piecing it all together. Soft ground just stretched Kaeso at York last time and he’s likely still in top form, while Welliesinthewater has been performing well of late and has a handy inside draw.

5.10 Horseradish Handicap (4) 1¼m70y

Timeform Top Rated:
92 9. RED FORCE ONE Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote
91 3. MULLIGATAWNY Roger Fell Tony Hamilton
90 2. DARK DEVIL Richard Fahey Oakley Brown (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
A wide-open finale with the narrow vote in favour of Red Force One. Tom Dascombe’s charge found some improvement for the fitting of a visor when scoring at Bath recently and he could be worth chancing to defy a 1 lb higher mark. Berlusca makes some appeal granted a good pace to aim at, with Gabrial’s Kaka and Bell Heather next best.
