Fair play to Our Little Pony who achieved what not many can do in a 5f at Beverley by winning from off the pace – like we said it was no sort of price for EW value and our selection, Kevin Ryan’s charge missed a paying shop by a neck 🙁 There’s more Beverley today along with Chepstow (nearly heavy!) Yarmouth and Salisbury with Timeform for that one below.

There’s a a big field handicap at Beverley and the only race of real note for us today.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 120% to nearly £2.2k with an ROI of over 25%….current stakes are now £27.52 EW.

2.10 Sorvio Insurance Brokers Maiden Auction Fillies’ Stakes (5) 6f213y

Timeform Top Rated
89 6. HAWAYEL Charles Hills Jim Crowley
80p 4. CONCELLO Archie Watson Oisin Murphy
79 1. POPPING CORKS Richard Hannon Seamus Cronin (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Concello lacked for knowhow at a crucial stage when runnerup on debut at Lingfield 3 weeks ago, and with that experience expected to bring her on, she can improve past Hawayel, whose profile is starting to look a bit flaky. Popping Corks is another to consider.

2.40 M J Church Novice Stakes (5) 6f213y

Timeform Top Rated
87 8. SHARG Richard Hannon Ryan Moore
86 2. CALENDIMAGGIO Mick Channon Franny Norton
82 3. DELIVERANCE Alexandra Dunn Charles Bishop

Analyst’s Verdict:
Muraahin is bred to be well-above average, and he strikes as the sort to step up quite a lot on his debut run, so he could be the answer. Sharg may well have won at Kempton last week under a stronger ride and he certainly won’t lack in that department with Moore taking over, while Blue Willow is a six-figure newcomers to monitor in the betting.

3.10 Bill Garnett Memorial Fillies’ Handicap (5) 6f

Timeform Top Rated
82+ 3. L’EXPLORA Roger Charlton Harry Burns (7)
81 7. FIRENZE ROSA John Bridger Kieran O’Neill
80 4. WICKED SEA Richard Hannon Seamus Cronin (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
The more experienced runners don’t look too well treated and for all L’Explora appeared to make heavy weather of it when winning at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago she should have more to offer now contesting handicaps. She gets the vote over Black Sails and Belated Breath.

3.40 Rob Barlow 50th Birthday Celebration Handicap (6) 1m

Timeform Top Rated
77 5. LIFEBOAT Charles Hills Jim Crowley
75 3. CARLINI Brian Meehan William Buick
74 6. DOWNTOWN MOMBASA Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lifeboat has had a pretty underwhelming 3-y-o campaign so far, but he offered a bit more last time, and representing an in-form yard with Jim Crowley taking over, he could be ready to strike. The Lords Walk and Flying Sakhee are feared most.

4.10 Tattersalls Sovereign Stakes (Group 3) (1) 1m

Timeform Top Rated
130 6. ELARQAM Mark Johnston Jim Crowley
129? 5. ZONDERLAND Clive Cox Adam Kirby
128 2. OH THIS IS US Richard Hannon Ryan Moore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Elarqam, the only 3-y-o in the race, is taken to kickstart a career that has stalled since the high promise of his Guineas fourth, with this drop back to 1m a good move after York. French-raider Plumatic is likely to give him most to do, ahead of the consistent Oh This Is Us.

4.40 EBF Breeders’ Series Fillies’ Handicap (2) 1½m5y

Timeform Top Rated
98p 5. CRYSTAL MOONLIGHT Sir Michael Stoute Ryan Moore
97 1. FROWN Ralph Beckett Harry Bentley
96 2. LORELINA Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
A sextet to view positively, but Crystal Moonlight is surely only to get better with racing, and her opening mark may underplay her anyway, so she will take some stopping. Frown is going the right way and won’t give up the hat-trick without a fight.

5.10 Kevin Hall & Pat Boakes Memorial Handicap (4) 1¾m44y

Timeform Top Rated
106 2. WINDS OF FIRE Charlie Appleby William Buick
101p 1. SUPERNOVA David Simcock Ryan Moore
100+ 3. PRAECEPS Sir Mark Prescott Bt Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
Winds of Fire still looked rough around the edges when second at Haydock a month ago and the feeling is that he could be a fair bit better than this class if learning to race properly. Supernova chases a hat-trick and his limit hasn’t been reached, either.
