12.30 Welcome To Our Christmas Raceday Novices’ Handicap Chase (4) 2½m15y

Timeform Top Rated
119p 1. WELL ABOVE PAR Lucinda Russell Thomas Willmott (7)
113 3. CALIVIGNY N. W. Alexander Lucy Alexander
112 2. EMERALD CHIEFTAN Rebecca Menzies Henry Brooke

Analyst’s Verdict:
If Well Above Par turns up in the same mood as over C&D 8 days ago he’ll be an incredibly tough nut to crack under a penalty so he gets the vote despite the presence of a couple of potential improvers in the shape of Emerald Chieftan and Glittering Love.

1.00 Annual Membership Perfect Christmas Gift Novices’ Hurdle (4) 2½m28y

Timeform Top Rated
135p 1. HIGHLAND HUNTER Lucinda Russell Blair Campbell (5)
134 2. STONEY ROVER Katie Scott Stephen Mulqueen (3)
130 5. CLOGHOUGE BOY Gillian Boanas Mr Joe Williamson (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Highland Hunter made a winning hurdles debut in ready fashion at Ayr last month and should have more to offer yet. He is taken to follow up. Weakfield will have learnt plenty from his first start over timber and is feared most, whilst Stoney Rover is also respected.

1.30 Book Your Cheltenham Raceday Package Today Novices’ Chase (3) 1m7f133y

Timeform Top Rated
152 2. NIVEN Philip Kirby Adam Nicol
148p 5. KELKA Donald McCain Brian Hughes
134+ 1. BULKOV Micky Hammond Alain Cawley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Kelka has the physique of a chaser and made an encouraging fencing bow at Catterick earlier this year. She disappointed next time, but has since joined Donald McCain and is taken to open her account in this sphere. Niven has also moved to a new stable and is the obvious danger.

2.00 Seasons Greetings From Racecourse Executive Handicap Hurdle (5) 2m7f63y

Timeform Top Rated
112 1. MISFITS Lucinda Russell Blair Campbell (5)
109 2. ACHILL ROAD BOY Stuart Coltherd Sam Coltherd (5)
106 7. TOWERBURN Alison Hamilton Callum Bewley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Misfits just failed to land a gamble here last week and can gain compensation off the same mark. Achill Road Boy is respected back over hurdles, while the in-form Towerburn is another to consider back up in trip.

2.30 Next Meeting Cheltenham Thursday 14th March Handicap Chase (5) 3m41y

Timeform Top Rated
116 8. MCGINTY’S DREAM N. W. Alexander Grant Cockburn (3)
111 3. HATTONS HILL Henry Hogarth Jamie Hamilton
110§ 7. MOORSTOWN Lucinda Russell Stephen Mulqueen (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
With the likelihood of more to come, Late Date is taken to follow up his recent Sedgefield success. McGinity’s Dream and Royal Salute are a couple of potential threats.

3.00 Safe Journey Home Maiden Hurdle (Qualifier) (5) 2m48y

Timeform Top Rated
124p 6. SPORTING PRESS Keith Dalgleish Brian Hughes
123 4. MOUNTAIN HAWK Tim Easterby Connor King
121 1. DARK RULER Jason Ward Henry Brooke

Analyst’s Verdict:
Sporting Press was unlucky to bump into an above-average type at Ayr 3 weeks ago and can go one better with further progress on the cards. Mountain Hawk, Dark Ruler and Skyhill can all do battle for minor honours.
