With no selections yesterday it’s straight into cards at Sandown, Yarmouth on the afternoon and Donny and Newbury in the evening….Timeform is for the same Sandown meeting below.

Previous winner Kachumba goes in the Yarmouth (17.10) under Hayley Turner in what looks like a competitive affair – Arabian Jazz has been well backed over night but perhaps the maiden Late Change will give him most to do with David Simcock in fine form and an excellent record at the track with this being his sole runner of the day – it’s another race under 8 runners and 3/1 offers no EW value.

We had a nice win with Le Manege Enchante last year and he goes at Donny (17.15) at a big price – however despite a step in the right direction at Wolves LTO he’s on the drift this morning and Derek Shaw’s other runner is of more interest. Savannah Beau gets the assist of Franny Norton and maybe it’s no coincidence that when Paddy Mathers gets off a horse and Franny gets on….it invariably runs well. However hasn’t really done the business at 6f  since losing his maiden over the trip. Donny favours the hold ups and they both fit that bill but would only be very tentative 50p EW’s 🙂

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge, it’s been 3 months of incremental profits…….our bank has grown by over 96% with an ROI of over 25%….current stakes are now £24.62 EW

1.50 Martin Densham Memorial EBF Maiden Stakes (4) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
82p 10. VENEDEGAR Ed Dunlop James Doyle
75p 9. RITCHIE VALENS Richard Hannon Jim Crowley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Several interesting newcomers on show in this maiden, including Scat Daddy colt Beatboxerwho is preferred before market clues. Fraser Island is another interesting one to keep a close eye on in the betting, while Ritchie Valens and Venedegar should improve from their debuts.

2.20 Longines Irish Champions Weekend EBF Stallions Star Stakes (Listed) (1) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
117 4. LA PELOSA Charlie Appleby William Buick
106 6. OCTAVE Mark Johnston James Doyle
98p 1. AJRAR Richard Hannon Pat Dobbs

Analyst’s Verdict:
La Pelosa is difficult to oppose on the form of her Albany second at Royal Ascot, and this looks a good opportunity for her to get back on the up having been badly hampered at Newmarket last time. Look Around is a well-bred filly who should have plenty more to offer, while Octave is respected stepping up in trip.

2.55 Sri Lanka The Wonder of Asia Handicap (3) 1¾m

Timeform Top Rated
106 5. SEXY BEAST Ed de Giles Callum Shepherd
105 3. KING’S PROCTOR Mark Johnston James Doyle
104 2. GHOSTWATCH Charlie Appleby William Buick

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ghostwatch has improved tackling longer trips this term, and having not been seen to best effect at Haydock on his most recent outing, he is fancied to get back on the up returned to the scene of his last success. Sexy Beast is also of interest given his profile and shouldn’t be dismissed lightly.

3.25 Sri Lanka Paradise Island Handicap (4) 1m1f209y

Timeform Top Rated
95 3. DREAM MACHINE Neil Mulholland Adam Kirby
94 4. AARDWOLF Warren Greatrex James Doyle

Analyst’s Verdict:
The form of Dorella‘s Wolverhampton success in February has worked out well and she could be worth chancing now handicapping with obvious potential for better still. This is competitive though, with Hombre Casado and Dream Machine just 2 potential threats.

4.00 Visit Sri Lanka Fillies’ Handicap (5) 1m1f209y

Timeform Top Rated
91 3. AUTUMN LEAVES Clive Cox Adam Kirby
89 7. CAMOMILE LAWN Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop
89 8. BLUE HARMONY K. R. Burke P. J. McDonald

Analyst’s Verdict:
Fannie By Gaslight showed improved form to get off the mark on handicap debut at Salisbury, doing especially well given she came from the rear in a steadily-run race, and there should be more to come. Sageness took a big step forward when making all at Beverley and is next best ahead of Autumn Leaves, who’s becoming well treated.

4.30 Amazing Sri Lanka Handicap (5) 1m

Timeform Top Rated
92 5. ARIGATO William Jarvis Josephine Gordon
91p 1. KING’S SLIPPER Clive Cox Adam Kirby
90 2. RUNNING CLOUD Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop

Analyst’s Verdict:
King’s Slipper got the job done in ready fashion at Windsor last time and appeals as having the most potential in the field. In-form pair Arigato and Running Cloud are others to consider.

5.00 Molson Coors Handicap (5) 7f

Timeform Top Rated
91 5. SKYDIVING Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop
90 6. DUKE OF NORTH Jim Boyle Charlie Bennett (3)
89 1. LORD CLENAGHCASTLE Gary Moore Hector Crouch

Analyst’s Verdict:
Skydiving left the impression there’s more to come when fourth on his handicap debut at Nottingham and is up against more exposed rivals now. The thriving Duke of North is the obvious threat having won off this mark at Epsom last week.
