Another crossbar hit with Ice Age just getting done a short head by David Allan on Tim Easterby’s Hyperfocus. I know we have banged on about that trainers current form but still really frustrating when you think you have found one at a price.

We’re a couple of winners shy of last year at this stage and building that pot – our last 12 selections have given 7 places with 3 close up seconds 🙁 However our average price is tracking at just over 10’s and that’s keeping us in the black and ready to kick on.

There’s a big day of decent cards for us to have a look at with Hamilton and our local Haydock with Ripon on the evening.

Up at Hamilton (16.00), another Tim Easterby charge, Vive La Difference went into our book in May, when staying on well at the death and won hers twice last year off this sort of mark. He’s on around 7/2 for those looking at lumping acca’s in a race the trainer won last year with Aasheq.

In the next (16.30), the same trainer saddles up ‘our’enigmatic Kenny The Captain – it was a much improved performance LTO and if he can build on that the going has certainly come right for him. However, on at 4’s were prepared to let that one ride and look for a future double digit punt in this uber competitive race.

At Haydock, another previous winner, Sheepscar Lad goes in the (16.10) – he is dropping into the right sort of area to be making a play but this is a competitive affair and the rails trap 1 draw makes this look a tough ask despite double digit prices and we’ll hold on him today.

We’ve a couple for Hamilton today

Today’s Selections

Our frustration is noted above 🙂

Hamilton 16.30

Rebecca Bastiman did us no favours yesterday, but overall the yard is in good nick having won with Majeste and operating at a near 40% place rate over the last month.

ZUMURUD was noted in our tracker early doors when ‘winning the stands side’ race at Ripon on seasonal debut. We made a play next time out without success but now gets favoured soft going again for the first time since.

Looking at the card, the pace looks to be drawn high with the likes of KTC & Galloway Hills but Danny Tudhope is back in the plate who was up top on that Ripon run so we’d expect him to race prominently as per that race and being drawn on the ‘suggested advantageous low side’ when the going runs soft at Hamilton.

The jockey is bang in form and a good record when booked to ride the stables front runners and the ex-Charlie Hills inmate could still be under the radar having won up Ponty’s stiff 5 last year off this mark.

There’s a best 14’s across the patch but take the FOUR paying slots with the likes of Betfred..

Hamilton 16.30 – Zumurud

Hamilton 17.00

We’re looking for the Danny Tudhope show today with another runner in Tim Easterby’s MUSIC SOCIETY.

He’s another tracker who we noted at Ripon who was never going to handle a Dark Defender racing from the front over that track:)

LTO he put up another good show over this C&D after dwelling at the start and if he can get away smartly should be able to benefit from racing closer to the pace with Wrenthorpe & Van Gerwen drawn close up.

Again there’s some paying that added bonus of the FOURTH SLOT with the likes Ladbrokes, Hills Betfred offering a best 8’s.

Hamilton 17.00 – Music Society

Today’s Bets……..

Good luck if you’re going with our EW selections today.

Hamilton 16.30 – Zumurud

Hamilton 17.00 – Music Society

(Current stakes are £12.80 EW for those backing the 1.25% EW on the £1k to £10k)
