With nothing to report on yesterday there’s cards at Salisbury, Carlisle and the start of Haydock’s Betfred Sprint Cup meeting to consider.

From yesterday’s notes, Solar Gold was backed heavily and ended up at a lumping priced 9/4 to win under David Probert and at Ffos Las, (19.35)...Rock Warbler ran his usual turf race in 4th and we’ll watch out for him on the AW in the coming couple of months.

1.50 Shadwell Stud Racing Excellence Apprentice Handicap (5) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
86 3. FORTUNE AND GLORY Joseph Tuite William Carver (5)
82 1. BRISTOL MISSILE Richard Price Jonathan Fisher (3)
81 5. THE GROOVE David Evans Cieren Fallon (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Fortune And Glory is clearly thriving and, given the way he travelled off the same mark at Kempton last time, he’s well capable of regaining the winning thread in a race where most of the others have little in hand. Bristol Missile strikes as the main danger ahead of The Groove.

2.20 Gift of Sight Appeal EBF Novice Stakes (4) (D.I) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
107p 2. BEAT LE BON Richard Hannon Oisin Murphy
99p 4. CAP FRANCAIS Ed Walker Andrea Atzeni
95p 3. BO SAMRAAN Mark Johnston Silvestre De Sousa

Analyst’s Verdict:
Beat Le Bon ran to a high level for a newcomer when narrowly touched off in a big field at Newbury 7 weeks ago and should take the beating. Cap Francais and Bo Samraan have potential and can follow the selection home.

2.50 Gift of Sight Appeal EBF Novice Stakes (4) (D.II) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
100 6. FOX PREMIER Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
89p 4. CHATHAM HOUSE Richard Hannon Ryan Moore
87p 9. ROWLAND WARD Ralph Beckett Harry Bentley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Fox Premier has some well-bred newcomers to see off, but he’s already comfortably achieved a level of form that would win the majority of novice events and, given his breeding, there’s probably a bit more to come, so he’s taken to get the better of Rowland Ward, who was beaten by only Too Darn Hot on debut, and the pick of the debutants Global Hero.

3.20 Irish Yearling Sales Nursery Handicap (5) 6f213y

Timeform Top Rated:
81 10. AEGEAN MIST John Bridger Kieran O’Neill
80 1. KWELA Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop
80 14. VALENTINO SUNRISE Mick Channon Silvestre De Sousa

Analyst’s Verdict:
Aegean Mist showed improved form to open her account on handicap debut at Lingfield last month, staying on well to lead close home, and this extra 1f should suit on that evidence. Kwela, Improvising and Gunforhire make up the shortlist.

3.50 Bob McCreery Memorial EBF Quidhampton Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (2) 6f213y

Timeform Top Rated:
95P 7. HELLO BANGKOK Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
89p 3. BELLE CHANEL Brian Meehan Josephine Gordon
89p 9. INDIGO ANGEL Richard Hannon Tom Marquand

Analyst’s Verdict:
Hello Bangkok created a promising first impression when just touched off at Newmarket last month, her effort all the more encouraging given she conceded first run. Open to significant improvement, she is fancied to go one place better. Indigo Angel was one place behind the selection last time and she is feared, ahead of Belle Chanel and Heritage, whilst newcomer Gatria is also worth a second look.

4.20 Shadwell Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3) (1) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
112p 3. FIRELIGHT Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
110 2. COME ON LEICESTER Richard Hannon Ryan Moore
109p 8. SCINTILATING Ralph Beckett Harry Bentley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Firelight sets a good standard judged on her latest effort in Group 2 company at York and, with the distinct promise of even better to come, she will prove a tough nut to crack. Come On Leicester appears to have gone the wrong way since Royal Ascot, therefore Scintilating, who looked good when making a winning debut at Newbury, and Yourtimeisnow may emerge as the main dangers.

4.50 European Bloodstock News EBF ‘Lochsong’ Fillies’ Handicap (2) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
107 5. SWEET PURSUIT Rod Millman Finley Marsh (5)
103 6. ODYSSA Richard Hughes George Rooke (7)
102 1. POET’S VANITY Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Sweet Pursuit did well to finish as close as she did when runner-up at Goodwood on Tuesday, an effort which suggests that she may still be improving. If tuned out again quickly, Rod Millman’s charge will take plenty of stopping off the same mark back on a stiffer track. An impressive winner at Newmarket recently, Clear Water is next best ahead of the admirably tough and consistent Goodnight Girl.

5.20 Lester Brunt Wealth Management Handicap (4) 1m4f5y

Timeform Top Rated:
96 1. C’EST NO MOUR Peter Hedger Robert Winston
95+ 7. CRYSTAL KING Sir Michael Stoute Non Runner
95 2. JELLY MONGER Dominic Ffrench Davis Rob Hornby

Analyst’s Verdict:
Past Master likely has more to offer for Henry Candy and is chanced under Ryan Moore, with the form of his Doncaster second having worked out. Chepstow-winner Zillion and C’est No Mour are both big players.
